Great park to spend a day hiking. Varying scenery with each of the different trails. The view from the lake is picturesque. The trail to the waterfall is still blocked off but you can get a decent view from where the trail ends. The trail up to the falls has a lot of elevation changes and loose rock at points. There are some steep inclines. Over a great place for a long walk. Be sure to reserve before arrival. They check for confirmation to enter the parking lot.
Great trail! Remember to reserve a spot in advance! I love coming to this trail regardless of which season it is! It has so much to offer. The waterfalls are always a great thing to see, especially in the winter when they are all frozen. The trail can be quite steep at certain points so definitely bring proper footwear and even crampons for your winter hikes.
Great hike! You have to pay for parking they patrol for tickets. They have a couple loops depending on your hiking level. Beautiful in the summer or winter. Washrooms avail. The falls are a bit of a hike to get to. If you don't make it all the way to the falls the trails are still great. Dogs on leash allowed and lots of families.
The weather was beautiful, the temperature was pleasant for a hiking. Still too early for fall foliage, only 10% at the moment. Walked the Bruce - Meadow - Dominion loop. It was about 10km, took about 3 hours to complete. The trail was well marked, a little challenging with alot uphills and downhills. The most beautiful section with the gorge view was closed.
Nice trail. You’ll need a reservation prior to coming to the park as staff do patrol the lot. It’s about a 45 minute walk to get to the falls and the lookout so definitely bring some water and proper footwear. Also recommend bug repellent as tick warning in effect. Easy terrain to hike on, though not the best markings to navigate through though the falls sign is clearly marked if that’s all you want to see. The trail to see the waterfall from below viewing platform is blocked off so you’ll need to go to the bridge to get a top view of the falls. Quite a workout coming back up the stairs. Kettle Lake is a nice sight. Overall, moderately difficult hike if you want to see the views.
First time visiting this park, and in winter. Beautiful place! Pretty plain going in from the parking lot, but once you go down and up the trail leading towards the falls and back, you are going to have quite a bit of cardio and quads workout! The falls was beautifully frozen although you can only see it from afar as the rest of the trail near it is blocked off. Make sure to get your advance day permit 5days in advance, although they do have a pay station as well at the parking lot which is not too big, so . Would love to come back in the fall!
It is one of the Ontario provincial parks hence need to book beforehand to reserve the vehicle parking. Our Ontario Parks vehicle permit will expire end of November, hence we seize the “May be last” chance to complete one more hike. There are very few people on the trails probably due to fall color season ends and weather is pretty cold, 3C. The Dominion Trail is closed therefore we only finish the Meadow Trail. Trail is easy, like leisure walk. Trail is bit misty in the late fall.
Trail is steep at some places. Can't get very close to waterfall. If you are going on a hot summer day, carry lot of water and drinks to hydrate yourself. Leave at least 2 to 3 hours for the waterfall Trail.
Nice but quite small park. We did all the main trails in less than three hours. The falls access is closed and we couldn’t get closed by. Still a nice park for walking.
Good trails, however they do not loop around so you need to walk back the way you came. The trails are well maintained with beautiful views! Good parking. Washrooms on-site.
