Fascinating views of the trees and the changing colors combined with the unique topography of the badlands and the opportunity to understand its history made for a wonderful outing. The trails are a little long and are of medium difficulty especially with kids and not stroller friendly but the views are completely worth it. I recommend going in the first 2 weekends of October for the best views and please book in advance as it's quite busy and parking is limited.
Nice place for visiting a phenomenon. It has two parking lot they are small so you should reserve in advance. Nice and easy to moderate walking. The way was well maintained. Washrooms are portable and not really clean. You probably will have a 1and half hour walking in total, it’s not a big trail. Don’t bring the stroller if you are with kids. Pretty easy walk for toddlers. Enjoy.
Nice area just few minutes north of Brampton. Parking on site reservation $10 is necessary, toilets available and snacks too, this pass will allow you to go to Terracotta park as well. Little 10 minutes hike if you decide to walk, you can bring your on a leash to enjoy the hike. The bruce trail passes by this area. There is a deck area where you can read and understand the rock formation. This place is also accessible from a second entrance no need to do the hike.
Certainly a once in a lifetime experience. Kids loved the red formation, the trail to the main attraction is not a lot, an hour is enough so make sure you plan other activities for the day as well. We visited the island lake after. Small parking lot and visit here does require advance booking. But definitely should visot at least once.
Rare, unique landscape right here in Ontario! This place is a gem. I am happy to see that in recent years, it's been properly conserved and protected. Used just be able to walk right into this area and continue onto its trail system. Great place to visit if you're in the area. Never disappoints.
Very small trail 325 m. I recommend wandering the Bruce Trail for some amazing pictures of the board walk and the woods especially during the fall season. Badlands are pretty cool though. Tickets book up pretty soon so book your $10 tickets soon.
I must admit I came expecting a more dramatic view and scenery. While it is gorgeous and helps that it is attached to the lovely and lengthy Bruce Trail, it is not a lengthy time spend at the badlands. Prepare for about 30-60 minutes to get good shots and walk a bit around the nearby trail starting points. If you are doing the Bruce trail from this entry point, then you need more time. Parking is 25 + tax and must be booked ahead of time for particular time slots. Worth a visit but possibly only once
Reservations were about $11.50 per person and the views were stunning! It was especially beautiful with all the fall colours surrounding the red dirt hills Lots of parking, dog friendly, very easy to locate as well. It takes about 10min to walk to the actual location of the red hills, but it isn't a difficult hike by any means. Worth the trip and a lovely date idea. We went early morning 8am so we didn't have to deal with any crowds and basically had the place to ourselves to enjoy the sunrise over the fall colours
If you are making a trip to the Badlands, you won't need more than an hour to see the badlands and do the trail. The badlands themselves are interesting, but small. I understand the boardwalk is to preserve the site, but it really does take away from the experience to have to see if from the boardwalk. Make the trip on a weekday if possible, bc you pay $20 instead of $10 if you go on Friday-Sunday. You MUST make a reservation before you go. I don't know if I need to see this again.
I don't mean to be a Debbie Downer, but our experience here was rather underwhelming. For $10 and this is only on weekdays, I expected more. We've visited the badlands more than a decade ago and back then they didn't charge you $10, and you could actually go onto the badlands. As an amateur photographer I was hoping to do some really artsy shots. Now that it is fenced, there is far less photographic potential. I know the pictures may seem enticing but trust me it is far less impressive in person. The vantage point is unfortunately blocked by so many annoying branches see picture. The explanation they give for the barricade is justified see picture, however I believe there are better ways to get the best of both worlds. They could've made the badlands as a photographer-only area, and set a limit of 2-5 photographers per timeframe. If you've already visited the badlands pre-2018 then I would say it's definitely not worth visiting anymore. A slow drive-by would do just fine.
