Dr Ford is an amazingly kind, thorough, patient, and talented surgeon. I felt comfortable with him from the moment I met him and knew I could literally trust him with my life. I got breast implants with lift in 2017 and my results were amazing! The finest incisions I have ever seen. His aftercare support and staff were so friendly and caring, and the surgical experience was pain free and the clinic was super clean. I did go on to develop capsular contracture a couple years later and had my implants removed by another doctor - Dr Ford had an injury at the time and was pausing all surgeries, but I wish I had waited to see Dr Ford. If I ever decide to do another surgery, no question in my mind who I'm going to see!
Approved me for surgery almost 6 YEARS ago. Told me to wait for a call for a date. I waited and waited, calling and emailing for updates. Only after sending multiple emails, I find out he won’t be doing the surgery anymore! SIX YEARS I waited for a life changing surgery and these people can’t even make a courtesy phone call to let me know they can’t do it. The level of unprofessionalism is absolutely mind blowing.
Dr. Derek Ford is truly an amazing plastic surgeon. During your consult all your questions and/or concerns are answered. You are not rushed at all. All details were discussed which made me feel very comfortable and go ahead with my surgery. It was on Aug.26. I’m still in the healing process but am excited to see how I’ll look in the end. Dr Fords receptionists are wonderful. They are available to answer questions you have as well. I was never a bother! I like the convenience that he has an office in Oshawa but operates in Toronto. I’m so pleased I chose Dr Ford for my surgery. I already have another surgery booked for next year! You will not be disappointed. Thank you Dr Ford, to you wonderful staff in Oshawa, snd you surgical and recovery staff at your clinic in Toronto. You all made my operation and overnight stay very pleasant.
Kind. Polite. Informative. Generous with time and effort. And this is Dr Ford and his wonderful staff. The before care, the surgery at the private clinic, the set up of the after care. I feel amazing. The nurses taking care of the after care we’re also incredibly impressed with the incisions, the work and sutures. I am incredibly thankful that I made a life changing decision to have a breast reduction and lift. And I am ever more thankful that Dr Ford listened and understood my reasoning for lifestyle. This was the most important thing! Highly recommend and happy to say this as I paid for it myself!
Dr. Ford did a breast reduction on my daughter who is only 17. Firstly, Katherine at the office is nothing short of amazing. Such a sweet, kind informative lady. She really makes you feel at ease. Dr. Ford did a stellar job on my daughter and I've had so many people tell me that he is fabulous. Even the staff at the hospital said they would choose him if they ever required plastic surgery. We were very happy with the outcome.
I am from the Durham Region and was enrolled in the High Risk Breast Assessment Clinic in the Oshawa Hospital and with a strong family history of breast cancer I decided to have a double mastectomy and Dr. Ford came highly recommended by my surgeon. Dr. Ford was kind and patient, understanding and calm even when all was not calm around him. Only down fall of him being so good is the wait time in his office. I would highly recommend Dr. Ford and thank him for the great job of making me look like me again after my mastectomy.
I am BRCA2 + and in January 2015 Dr. Ford performed a bilateral double mastectomy with conservation of the nipples. It's a major surgery not only from a medical point of view but also from a psychological aspect. Dr. Ford is an amazing surgeon, he's knowledge is unlimited, he treats his patients in a very warm way and he's always available to answer to any questions. His team is fantastic and always there for you. I'm extremely happy with the result of my surgery and I will be for ever grateful to Dr. Ford and his team for saving my life and still be happy to look myself naked at the mirror. Before my surgery I made the mistake of looking on Google at some pictures of women who had a double mastectomy and I got pretty scared, but those pictures were not even close to the wonderful job Dr. Ford did on me. WOW! I could not be happier. Thank you for the rest of my life Dr. Ford!
After losing 240lbs not a typo! I sought out Dr Ford re my excess skin issues, he came to my attention as I was visiting Lakeridge Oshawa for a totally different reason and during pre surgery check, one of the nurses commented on my weight loss and asked if I was going to follow up with plastics and mentioned `our own` Dr Ford as being extremely good at his work. I met with Dr Ford at the Oshawa office and his warm gentle demeanor made me completely at ease, even looking in the full length mirror, naked. We spoke of expectations and outcomes and he was totally professional in what would work best for me, never pushing me to have `more`. We agreed on treatment, a breast reduction, liposuction, a fleur de lis and abdominoplasty, his back office team, diligently applied to OHIP for coverage of part of the costs to which I was successful. The operation went off well, I did experience a `bleed` which needed me to go back to the operating room, but this was handled without drama and stress free and just over a year post op, I am absolutely thrilled with the outcomes. So much so, I had further procedures in December 2016, elective surgery at his Toronto suites, again we discussed my needs, my expectations and booked for bilateral brachioplasty and lateral chest reduction. The suites are clean, warm and inviting, the or room has windows high but you are able to see out, which was so nice. Dr Ford, was welcoming and going over the operation and good instructions for after care and seeing me before I left, giving me a personal contact number for him, which I used once when I needed, and which he was so reassuring as I apologized and he `thanked` me for calling. The whole Dr Ford experience is one of positivity, he and his office work as a team, and yes, you have to wait for appointments and when you have an appointment your likely to wait a while, rarely seen on time, but Dr Ford, listens, there is no rush, he gives you all the time you need and he is honestly worth the wait. I would like to mention Catherine, the quiet in `my storm` who is able to listen without judgment, who files all the paper work, who makes the schedules, whom I spent time speaking to so much over the phone it was great to finally meet her. I would highly recommend Dr ford and his whole team. Thank you to you all
I recently had a "tummy tuck". During the weeks prior to the surgery Dr. Ford's staff were her professional, reassuring and knowledgeable. They reassured me every time i called that my questions were valid and important. Post-op I had a small issue which concerned the in home care/nurse. Dr. Ford responded quickly when she calked and gave instructions to correct the issue. Dr. Ford also called me at home with follow up to see if what he advised was working. I have felt safe and reassured throughout this whole process. I'm not sure yet how my results will look as I am still swollen, but without a doubt I will be consulting with Dr. Ford for my 2nd procedure.
After losing close to 100lbs, I was left with a lot of excess skin that could not be corrected by any amount of exercise or healthy eating. It was very discouraging to put in all the hard work to achieve and maintain a healthy lifestyle and not see the true results of my efforts. Turning to plastic surgery to correct my excess skin was overwhelming because there was so much information available online, as well as many doctors in the area. Dr. Ford was recommended to me by my family physician and I am so glad! Dr. Ford made me feel comfortable right from the moment I stepped into his office. I had scheduled several other consultations with other doctors, however cancelled them immediately after meeting Dr. Ford. He is professional, knowledgable and gentle, with a sensitivity that is needed for this type of surgery. In July, Dr. Ford performed an extended abdominoplasty and brachioplasty on me and I could not be happier with the results, the care I received, and his continued support during my recovery. He truly changed my life. I cannot recommend Dr. Ford enough! When other men and women in the weight loss community see my before and after photos, they always comment on the quality of the work that was done on both my tummy and arms. Thank you, Dr. Ford!
