We stopped by this coffee shop for a quick breakfast. We ordered 2 lattes, a bagel and a Korean BBQ pork sandwich. The sandwich was not bad $9 - a bit pricy; bagel was good. The lattes definitely needed some improvement. Not sure if it was the coffee beans that the restaurant uses, or the amount of coffee they used to make the latte i ordered large size, I just couldn’t taste much coffee. The tables needed some cleaning. We arrived quite early 10am, but the 2 tables we sat at, and next to us were not cleaned.
This local cafe is a gem! There are so many seatings available, and there's even a piano in the back. The menu offers many drink options, with sandwiches and pastries available as well. The service was excellent and the vibe of this cafe feels very welcoming.Food: 5/5
This shop opens at 6:30 on weekdays, to service the commuter crowd. They use coffee ice cubes in their ice coffee, and their prices are the best… I love
Great coffee + bagel, and relaxing ambience! It has an interesting theme with books strewn about, and a Korean playlist that just fits the vibe!
Went to Red Bulb first but they have no tables. This place is just as good overall except you can actually find a seat here!! Great service and coffee.
I've been going to For The Love Of Jo for many years now. I could be wrong but if memory serves me right my first visit was sometime in 2009. While not much has changed since, this shouldn't be seen as a negative thing. Sometimes keeping things that work is more than enough, with the occasional refresh. Lots of.big companies do that, just think of Apple's iPhone, car manufacturers, clothing... You get the idea. What prompted me to take the time to write was my experience today, which simply added to an already positive view of the business and its staff. I rode my bicycle from Toronto and was very excited to grab a warm cup of coffee and some treats before the trip back. It's still relatively cold, plus I wanted to support the business in these difficult times. As I was placing the order I remembered that I had no cash or my debit card, with only the tap function on my mobile as a payment option. It didn't work, but rather than turning me away, the person working there gave me the espresso. It may not seem much, but it's these types of gestures that put a place ahead of others. In addition to that, when he noticed me sitting by the steps to the front door, he came out and gave me a nice cup of warm mint tea. "To help me warm up", he said. There may be newer and "fancier" coffee options on Main Street but having gone to those places a few times as well, I can say that I'm yet to experience something like this or receive consistent service. For The Love Of Jo gives us that. So go support them! Go enjoy their coffee and treats with the knowledge that you're dealing with a one of a kind business owner.
Good coffee! We were there early morning so didn't experience the live music... Although it's probably put on hold due to the pandemic... Their advantage is the tables and seats across the road around the Clock Tower Sept 19, 2022 we love their beef sandwiches too... There's a selection of Turkey, pork, chicken, BLT sandwiches.
Great Main St. coffee shop with books to peruse and really good, fresh, inexpensive baked treats like butter tarts and banana bread. I love the vibe. Support local coffee shops!
Lovely Little Cafe with excellent food, drink and customer service.
Such lovely people. Their ice coffee is amazing. The ice cubes they use to make the iced coffee is made from coffee. My husband loved it! Be sure to try their homemade treats.
