Foodoe's Fish and Chips

Decent food, great vibe, and really friendly service. The shrimp and fish tacos are definitely worth a trip here. If you're looking for pub food this is a great place to check out.

Came in for taco Tuesday. $3.22 per taco is great. They are reasonable sized tacos. I had a fish, shrimp and chicken taco to try all three. They were all good. The shrimp was my favourite one. It's a great little neighbourhood restaurant

We had the chowder and it was pretty good. The main was the crab fries and cod and chips that were OK. I must agree with some of the other reviews that there was very little fish, mostly batter and a good amount of fries. The service was very slow but friendly.

Overall was very good. Mainly came here to try the different kind of tacos and the crab fries. Unfortunately they were out of crab when we came but the subbed in shrimp at our request and it was really good! Fish and shrimp tacos were also really good!! Only down fall was the order of Cod fish is was very plain tasting and I didn't enjoy the texture. But again the fish taco itself was really good. Would come back again to hopefully try crab fries and crab tacos. Also customer service was really good! Nice spot

Just OK. Room for improvement for sure. Service is polite and friendly, atmosphere and decor are good. However the portions are noticeably light and the quality of the fish recipe isn't great. Basically, it's mostly batter and the grease really penetrates the batter to the fish. Also, I feel like most fish and chips are accompanied by a small coleslaw.

Gluten free batter available, but not listed on the menu. Kids menu not always listed, but selection is available. Recommend the fish and chips, tacos, and 27+ beer selection. They carry cider too. The atmosphere is casual, with a bar, and a sidewalk view bar bench. Seating for at least 20+ at about 12 tables inside for a restaurant feel. The service is casual, but great.

Great food. Great menu choices and a nice mostly local beer list.

There is definitely room for improvement at this place. While not bad, it was disappointing. The reviews about the size of the fish are spot on. It's like they cut a filet in half and then half again and dipped it in batter four times. While it looks visually appealing, there is no substance at all. Like... at all. Ordered the Crab Fries and really it was just flaked canned crab, mayo, goat cheese lightly sprinkled. Disappointing and I can make it at home. Fries are good but I'm not going for the fries. I'll go to Smoke's Poutine for that. The best was the smoked oyster clam chowder. Quite tasty... but I'm not coming here for the chowder. I guess if you're into beer there's decent selection but I likely won't be returning for the food. Service was polite but absent... like almost completely.

I was recommended to this place based on a friend of mine who had their vegan fish and chips. I have been looking for a place to arrange a local meet up for a vegan Facebook group I manage. I was thrilled to find out that there was a local place offering this and was very eager to try their tofu fish meals. What started as a miscommunication in the order I understand both parties have their own versions of what they thought they had communicated ended up with me receiving the worst customer service I have ever had by the manager no less. When I asked them if they would rather receive negative feedback on their business rather than satisfy a customer over a $10 order their reply was yes. Only when I told them that they would be throwing away a $150 dinner order did they offer to redo my order. And they did follow through, with no further desire to offer a positive experience. They cooked it, handed it to my husband, and that was it. We were hoping that things would have deescalated and voice our appreciation for the order if there was any sense of concern towards making a customer happy but there was not so for that reason we would not recommend this place.

This place is great, can't believe it took us a year to find it! Our new go to place for fish and chips. Great selection of beers on tap, excellent fish and batter, and perfect fries. Their house sauce is something special too.
