Such a great spot with the cutest hidden patio in the back. Chad one of the owners was serving us and was so attentive and personable. He recommended the cauliflower bites, which were SO good. I usually find that cauliflower bites tend to be pretty small. But these were so plump and crispy, which came with a sweet but not too sweet Korean glaze. It was also on top of a creamy sauce of some sort to balance out any of the sweetness. I also got three tacos: grilled halibut, fried calamari and the fried shrimp. They were all cooked perfectly, however the calamari one was definitely my favourite. I do wish the tacos could have a bit of variation in the toppings, but that would be my only note! My friend got the lamb burger and sweet potato fries. I didn’t try her burger but she ate it all so I can only assume it was yummy. I definitely snuck a few of her fries and they were fried perfectly. They also have some local beers on tap which is fun! Next time I will definitely have to try their fish and chips. Highly recommend this restaurant to anyone in the area who wants great food with just as great customer service. *they also have great gluten free options as well*
What a gem of Leslieville! We dined at their cozy patio that had heaters as it was a bit chilly. The service was excellent. And the food was amazing. The best fish and chips we've had in a long time, it literally melts in your mouth, so crispy and fresh. Calamari and shrimp tacos were also great and we enjoyed the shrimp dumplings as well. Their red wine sangria is delicious. Will definitely be back!
I cannot say enough good things about this place. Been here multiple times and they have the best back patio. It’s perfectly secluded with greenery and a cute vibe. The food is always fresh. Oysters come with lemon, mignonette, & rotating hot sauces. Loved the crab cakes and Calamari but the haddock fish and chips or salad are the star of the show. The owner is so friendly and has excellent taste in wine. Decent cocktail and beers as well so everyone leaves happy. Pro tip: Make a booking ahead of time via OpenTable or come early for the back patio.
If I could give 6 stars, I would! We had our wedding at Anglr and the owners - Chad and Tate turned it into an amazing experience. Their food is just awesome and the laid back atmosphere they create for the guests is exactly what we wanted. I also can’t thank enough Allyson, Chad’s wife, who helped us to organize all the small details and made sure the event flows and guests get all they need. All the team went above and beyond and totally exceeded our expectations! The venue is also very nice and the patio is lovely. I would highly recommend Anglr as a place to host an event as well as a place to have a really nice meal and beer anytime. Photos by Stasia Photo
So we ordered Cauliflower bites for starters and the Haddock fish & chips and the Sweet Heat Cauliflower Taco for the main course. The very first bite of the cauliflower bites hinted that I am in for a delicious treat, it made me happy. I chose the Haddock on a classic house batter and tartar sauce with coleslaw and sweet potato fries on the side, though they have a number of options to combine with your haddock. My partner enjoyed her taco too. The fish and chips is one of the best I have had in Toronto, the place is pretty neat with a very jolly and friendly host. Happy to have found another quality spot in the city .
Loved all the food - from fried calamari, fish and chips, crab cakes, shrimp dumplings, and tacos. All tasted decent and pretty much balanced. We wanted to dine in the patio it was kinda hidden, which is really cool, but it was pretty sunny so we decided to dine inside instead. We got the maple soy brussel sprouts for free because it was "failed" they said—BUT IT WAS THE BEST DISH OUT OF ALL!!
I went there with my little brother for his birthday and we had a wonderful time. He had a cheeseburger, I had fish and chips and we shared cauliflower bites and mussels and clams. The cauliflower bites came after our entrees were nearly finished and it really shouldn't be called cauliflower bites. It's more like a deep fried cauliflower that we found but oily for our liking. Other than that, I would definitely go back and try other items on the menu. Vegetarian options: Salads, tacos, deep fried cauliflowers, etc. Kid-friendliness: Kids menu is available
Such a lovely restaurant, tasty dishes and welcoming atmosphere. We have tried fish and chips, some appetizers and our favourite was crab cakes. So tasty!
The atmosphere is magnificent, with the servers being friendly and polite. I ordered the crab cakes and they were absolutely delicious, definitely the best crab cakes I've had in Ontario. Overall, this place is a must go to if you're craving seafood.
I had such a lovely time at this super cute place! We ordered a bunch of appetizers to share, and everything was delicious!! I really enjoyed my fish burrito and Ceasars!! Would definitely go back!
