Food Basics

It's alright. The store is somewhat clean. The young lady who works in the bakery area was very sweet. I asked her if she knew the price for the biscotti and didn't but said she'll find out. She was there and back in 15sec! I've been back and will go again.

Very disappointed in this location. I've been here many times and a few visits I've come across staff who are prejudice/Racist. They were rude to me, stood behind me as cashing out as if I was going to steal something. One word of advice sometimes its your own people that will do things like that. I work hard, I'm Canadian. Food Basics needs to visit this location and fire the older white staff and replace them with more educated, welcoming, and diverse people. I've contact the head office to file a formal complaint as well.

I wish I could actually give this store a better rating. I have multiple times spoken with store management over the years. This store is regularly messy with many holes where products should be. Today at about 12 noon I attempted to come in for 3 items they had only 2 buggies where you pick up buggies I saw the assistant store manager working stock onto the shelves and had to ask him for 2 of 3 items. 1 they had more in the back, the other they did not have in stock and I was able to easily get the 3rd. When I went to the checkout all self checkouts were being used and there was 3 cash register and one of the cashiers had a closed sign up. There was a line up of customers waiting going half way up the frozen and cookie isle. The meat manager was putting crackers on the shelf and when I saw him and said hey I know the assistant manager is a couple isles over is there something that can be done about this. He responded with no that they didn’t have staff and the hours were the worst he has seen he also pointed out I have talked to the store manager before about store conditions. It is not my problem as a customer if there is no staff and no hours.nnUnless someone I can speak with the district manager who oversees this store about conditions I have experienced with this location I doubt anything will be done as it seems the store manager has exhausted what is in her abilities.nnIt is really unfortunate, I have family members that work or have worked for the Food Basics and Metro Banner of grocery stores so I would like to continue to support the company as a whole if I had another Food Basics or Metro in the area I would just not shop at this one and go elsewhere to continue to support the banner.

Best price groceries in town but you often have to self checkout an entire cart of food through self checkout because there is no register open.
