For a discount supermarket this place does the job. My only negative is the selection of fresh fruit and vegetables. Some of the fruit are not that fresh, and the vegetable section seems to be targeted to a specific clientele: Caribbean or West African.nnBut then again, having Adonis, a Middle Eastern chain next door, they need an edge.nnBetter service would definitely make me come back.
This guy who I'm figuring is a customer walked up told me to scan properly or he's not leaving. I was I have exactly what I paid for. I told him I've never had to do that and I don't want to be lifting the heavy bags more than I have to have a weight limit. Told him he's a customer leave me alone and let me scan my groceries. I told the employee to tell him to leave me alone as he was watching me for 10 minutes and was making me feel very uncomfortable and scared. She said that he had a point that it's better if the bags were on the black thing. I asked her if that's mandatory she said no and I kept doing it myself. This creep didn't say he was security or anything. I felt very unsafe I called my husband and he was going to Uber to me but I told him I'll just pay and run fast away
This isn't my first time receiving the best customer service experience from the cashier Mohamad Ali. He is polite, helpful, efficient and has a great business demeanor. It was busy and there were a several of us at cash, and I had to rush for a cab yet he managed to address each customer's question and transaction professionally and with great timing. It is people like Mohamad Ali that give Food Basics a good name.
Falls marketing promotion rips the customers like us.. usually don’t care about a dollar but now with this economy it’s worth too…nnSo they had a promotion with 7.99 for calamari but charged me 8.99 saying of it was a different brand… THEN WHY did you put it in the wrong isle??? Isn’t it FOOD-BASICS responsibility? To put the right promotion items on right space without misleading customers????
If I could give this location zero stars I would. I love this chain but the service at this particular location is very poor. The cashiers throw your items in a disorganized fashion on the belt leading to bruising of fruits and complete chaos as you try to pack your bags. The first time this happened I tried to mention this politely and was met with a blank stare as my cashier continued to throw my items. Again tonight the same situation. This will be my last visit to this location and would strongly recommend anyone who has the option to go to a different as well.
