Great place to shop for budget minded shoppers. Large selection of products and normally their shelves are well stocked. Cashiers are curtious.nI normally go during g weekdays and do find that there are normally lines at the one or two cashes that are open and have rarely seen the express counter open.nThough they do have a lot of self check outs that never have lines to wait.nFruits and veggies are sort of hit and miss. Sometimes, stuff is super fresh. However, sometimes it's not so fresh.nAlways ample parking during the daytime.
I've been going to food basics now for about 3 years....I go, I shop , I listen and I see....I've noticed over the last few years how some of your employees go above and beyond to help....especially the elderly and the mentally challenged.....Today, I did my usual groceries, but I forgot tomatoes......so I headed back.....I was in the vegetable section when I heard this very helpful lady do what I have heard her do so many times before.....help another shopper...I walked away, but decided that today I would go back and let her know that I noticed how helpful she was.....I walked up, like an idiot, and told her exactly what I saw over the last few years.....about what a fantastic job I had seen her do.....about how helpful she had been to everyone I had seen her interact with.....I can't speculate on the countless others I wasn't there to see, but I am sure she was the same.....nI finally did what I had told myself I would do.....Like my mom used to tell me.....give flowers while people are alive.....Today, I did, and I was lucky enough to meet Jennifer from Food Basics on Kirkwood......I know the next time I am in, I will surely say HI to a lovely person who does nothing but help others....
I met several genuinely friendly and accommodating staff at this location when I did my grocery shopping here for the first time tonight. I am very happy with the service provided. The prices are also great.nnI will most definitely be returning :
Pretty good variety of products, especially produce. Staff is friendly and happy to help. Small in comparison to other food basics, but does a decent job of organizing space. Lacks organization at the cash register however, there is limited space for waiting at cashes, and they don't use a line-up system. This leads to very limited respect for social distancing.nnOverall 4/5
Store mispriced item and wanted to charge for item and manager did not know SCOP scanning checkout policy. Someone changed the sign to an incorrect price form the previous week, employees do not know what they are talking about. Extremely rude service. Avoid if possible.
