Food Basics

A well stocked, organized Food Basics at Scarborough neighborhood. It is also well kept and clean and also not very crowded. The produce and meat section is always full, albeit not many varieties. Products on sale are always good priced. Ample free parking is available.

I tied to buy milk today at this store at 6:30 pm today. The price posted was $4.99 for 2L of Lactancia Milk. When I got to the cash the price came up as $5.19. The cashier at #7 said she would call for a price check but asked another cashier instead. She said the milk was not on sale. I said I would take a photo of the price tag and show her. I told to cash out the other customers so they would not have to wait. When I returned the customers were still waiting. I showed her the photos and she looked at all of them carefully. She said she had to ask her supervisor. I told to cash out the other customers and I would wait. She left. She returned and said the supervisor was coming. She finally cashed out the other customers when I asked her again. 15 minutes later I asked her when the supervisor was coming. She said she never said the supervisor was coming. Then she finally called for a price check. No one came. So I posted to Facebook. That was when a different cashier came over and said she would help me. The cashier#7 said to me "ridiculous" as I left. The other cashier looked at the photo of the price tag and cashed me. She apologized for what happened. It took 30 minutes, Facebook and a different cashier to finally get my groceries.

Good prices, they carry a lot of diverse products, clean and staff are generally nice

Big store. Nor busy. Lots of groceries selection. Produce are ok even meats are good. There are frozen stuff too. I also like the flowering plants here. Nice for gifting in any season. I always find good deals otherwise regular price is not that bad. Lots of parking.

This is a great Food Basics. Every time I go here, it is clean, well stocked, friendly, helpful staff and easy to get to by public transit. This trip, I went for sale items in the flyer, and they did not disappoint. I got everything I came for. It was a little busy at the registers. Otherwise, it was fairly quiet.

Timings mentioned for today’s date i.e. 22nd April, open till 9:00 pm, but when i reached around 8:04 they said its closed

The best thing about food basic is it has all the things and there weekly flyers are really competitive and there is halal section as well so the store is good and staff is good as well.

its alright. you have to check if your items are expired as i have bought expired products before, but other than that its fine. they have some good deals.

Last week I was shocked to see a bag of chicken wings for more than 17 dollars but today a price of a bag of vegetables or fruit on sale a few bruised apples or old zucchiniwhich was a dollar last week has increased to 2 dollars. And everybody knows that people with money don't shop for discount vegetables.

Be careful when you buy milk or chocolate milk. Unfortunately this is what I bought today from Food Basic on October 14th, 2022. It's chocolate milk which has already expired. This must be a product recall.
