Flying Saddle Resort

The cabin was nice that was about it. We often run away overnight to Jackson but decided to try something different and was so excited when I found this resort. After checking in found out they had a tour bus that was staying the same night that took priority over the other guests. The lounge and dinner room were reserved for them, at 430 we tried to get in before they arrived all the tables were reserved and the bus hadn't arrived yet!!! To have something to do while trying to get a table maybe later so we could eat we decided to use the hot tub. It was so hot you couldn't keep your feet in for more than a few minutes. Needless to say we had to drive into Alpine for food and something to do. I was excited about staying at the resort and having all the entities was. Mind you we cabins are more than normal room Rate. Then when we checked out we were asked how our stay was we replied could of been better. Our response was here's your receipt, not we are sorry what was the issue. So if you stay here make sure you ask if a tour bus is coming in, if so you run as fast as you can they sure won't tell you anything until you check and then tell you the dinning room and lounge are reserved. Biggest waste of money ever!!! We will go back to Jackson next overnight get away!

BE AWARE-THIS IS NO RESORT Cory and her manager were very rude and did not have any idea about the meaning of customer service. Cory was very cold and unresponsive regarding customer needs. The sheets and blankets were worn thin and there was a big hole in my blanket. The tub was also a jacuzzi at one time and they have all been disabled. The tub was disgusting and there was no hot water. I complained to the manager about the hot water and he said "our systems are programmed on an as needed basis regarding hot water". The wallpaper in the bathroom is peeling off and there was no attempt by the manager to address my concerns. I was charged the full price. This may have been a so called "resort" in the 1970's however it is not a resort by any stretch of the imagination in 2017.

Rooms have the right size, but seemed to me old-fashioned. The restaurant was okay, good food but the staff could have been more friendly. Maybe they had a long hard day, but so we had, too. Breakfast was not included and we had no intention to spend our money there.

It wasn't too bad but not nearly as good as we expected, or as good as it could be. The bathroom fixtures were very outdated. The "jetted tub" had a plaque on it that says the jets are disabled, the toilet was running when we got there and had been all day I assume, there was a hole in one bed blanket and hairs found on the other (before it was touched by us, and one of the main lights in the room didn't work. This could be a really nice place to stay with the beautiful setting on the Snake River and all the things to do but I don't think we would stay here again just because of the room. :(

Started at the bar with a friend to get a beer. Ended up on the patio near the waterfall. Delightful. Burger was fantastic, Dave our waiter was prompt and courteous, and the location was nicely landscaped. A great evening to be had. Highly recommended.
