Camper amenities include a heated pool, kiddie pool, hot tub, playgrounds, fishing, rental rowboats, kayaks and paddle boats, hayrides, mini golf, off-leash dog park, sandy beach, roped off swimming area, giant sand hills, picnic area, concessions, hot showers and restrooms. Fish Lake Beach was purchased by Alfred Keil while his wife, Emilie and daughter, Yvonne, were visiting relatives in Switzerland. When his family returned, Al, who was a butcher in Chicago, was very excited to show them the "fishing camp" he had purchased. His wife had a feeling she knew what property he was talking about and said "I hope it's not that Godforsaken Fish Lake!"

Emily and Yvonne moved from their comfortable apartment in the city to an old house on the property when Yvonne was 9 years old to run Fish Lake full-time. Al stayed in the city during the week to continue to run his butcher shop and came out to Fish Lake on weekends to help out.

Over the years, more cabins were added to the camp and eventually a campground was formed in the 1960's. Yvonne went off to college at Valparaiso where she met her husband Del. They both became teachers, but eventually came back to Fish Lake to help run and grow the business.

Today their daughters Yvonne & Desiree, son-in-law Randy and grandchildren Christi & Joshua all continue to work together to make Fish Lake a home away from home for campers every season. They are so thankful their Grandpa Al made the decision 73 years ago to take a chance on a dream, work hard and provide this beautiful place to raise their families.

the place is wonderful.my family has been going up there for years I have a lot of friends up there. I have a lot of memories up there. All the workers there are nice but this guy name Kyle he think that he is a badass and he make all the girls hate him because he had try to date them all and he thought that driving a golf cart made him look cool and show off a lot. this place is amazing but watch out for the that wild Kyle he will come out of no where so be ready to run. :)

Stayed there for a month and over the course experienced multiple problems with this place. The mosquitoes where horrendous. My whole family suffered from the bites. The showers and bathrooms where unclean, had old broken shower heads which caused our stuff to get wet while taking the shower. And one early morning I actually lost the hot water as I was trying to wash my hair. The pool actually cut my kids and other kids also I would notice as the month went on. Two of my kids in the face and one was the first day in the foot! They literally came out of the pool bleeding! I'm not gonna lie this made me really upset. Oh and the seasoned seniors will gossip loudly by the pool. Some of the lifeguards don't seem have the same platform as far as rules at the beach or the pool. They were telling us different things. They don't have enough laundry machines for the amount of people that live there seasonally and all others. And it's costly for such small loads. I would never visit this park again. The first day we were informed by a local that there are much nicer parks around. They asked us in surprise why we chose this one. We didn't. Very disappointed with this place. Ohhhh and I almost forgot. There is a kid or maybe more that go around the sites and steal your possessions. Apparently the owner or staff know about this and allow it to happen!

Campsites are nice but very close together. Bathrooms are below average with what I would call poor showers. Pool had terrible hours and they closed it arbitrarily. Changed the hours while we were there even though posted hours were different. They are catering to the full timers there and not the people there for a short stay. Would recommend another campground in the area. In response to the camping resort. There were never lifeguards the entire week we were there. We saw 1 once on the weekend we were there, but not during the week. If it was based off of lifeguards then the pool would have been closed the entire time we were there. If you change things via "your app or website" that should have been posted on at least 1 of the documents in bold letters, that were given upon checking in. It would have been nice to know, as having a child with special needs and walking to the pool thinking it is open is hard to explain to that child that it is closed. Also if it's due to cold weather are we not adults and responsible for our own selves and children, should we not be able to make the decision to swim in the cold weather on our own?

One of our new favorite camping spots. Highly recommend. Sites are a bit small, but the activities are great. We went to the concession stand and had a funnel cake sundae. It was amazing. There was a island dance the weekend we went. It was so much fun. We are making another trip before the end of the camping season.

I have been going here for years. This place is amazing for families. There is a great pool area next to a playground and a fantastic beach. I have always loved how they leave the sand in giant piles on the beach instead of spreading it around - they provide endless fun week after week. There are a few nice playground areas located around the park as well. It never gets old for us!
