The staff was very attentive. It felt like a clean and friendly atmosphere. I had several requests and they out performed all of them by a Longshot!! Best overnight stay in BELFAST. We will definitely be returning

Stayed here for a family wedding. Staff was accommodating and let us use a conference room for free so that everyone could hang out without cramming into one room. The bathrooms needed some serious work (the wallpaper was peeling and there was mold on the ceiling). The beds were comfy and the room was modest but nothing fancy.

I recently completed a three night stay at Belfast Fireside Inn. I have stayed here many, many times, since shortly after it was built as a Comfort Inn. Since the change of ownership (to Fireside Inn), I have noticed a sharp decline in the level of service, and overall experience here. Yes, the view of the ocean is magnificent, and that is truly one of the primary reasons why I chose this Inn for my most recent stay. When it was a Comfort Inn, the desk staff seemed to always have a smile, were noticeably friendly, engaging, and appreciative of your visit. Sadly, this is no longer the case. With little exception, the desk staff at Fireside, seem disinterested, unengaging, and noticeably much less polite and friendly. The few minor, simple requests we made, which in the old days were anticipated and honored graciously by staff, today were an extreme "effort", and on more than one occasion we were confronted with a "take it or leave it" attitude, along with the "this is how it is now...it's no longer a Comfort Inn for a reason" response! After checking out, we did not even get the customary, "thank you for your visit", or "we look forward to seeing you again"...nothing! Totally uninterested and unappreciative of the $500.00+ we just dropped there! We took one look at the pool on this visit, and said to ourselves, "No Way"! Although I've been told that some of the rooms have been renovated recently, the room we were in clearly was not, as it was severely dated (I recognized the decor, carpet and drapes pattern, from 20 years ago) and most certainly had not seen an update since the hotel was built, hardly justifying the rather high weekend rate, with it's stained carpet, peeling caulk around bathroom fixtures (sink and tub), peeling wallpaper in room, soil-stained pillow cases, worn and peeling paint on doors, 90's-dated window treatments, damage and gouges caused to wall by chairs, etc. We were also given a room on the second floor, and had to deal with three days of guests above us, stamping, stomping, and banging relentlessly, at all hours! The soundproofing/insulation between rooms/floors is terrible, if you are trying to relax. You can hear doors slamming, constantly, 10 rooms down the hall, in either direction! Door noise has always been an issue here, but it somehow was more tolerable, when the place was in top of their game, in most other areas. Suffice to say, I most likely won't be staying again, as it has gotten to the point where the view alone, while amazing, no longer justifies the stay. It is sad, because I always loved this place, but the last few stays have solidified to me, that it is not the pleasant experience it once was.

Front desk staff not very friendly. Nice place to stay with balcony view of Penobscot Bay. Hotel does not have a work out room. Free breakfast is typical cereal, bagels, pastries, yogurt, toast, coffee, juices, hot tea, etc. Power went out because of storm; not hotel fault but I had to find another place to stay; hotel did not charge for me the nights without power. I would stay again and recommend hotel.

We stayed 2 days the rooms were nice and the view from our room was very nice. I would recommend eating up town, the scalps were the size of my thumb and the shrimp was like what you would get in a 21 shrimp basket very small. The scalps cost more than the lobster and I had lobster and it was good but small . The elderly lady was very unfriendly and it was over priced for what you get .
