Great food, exceptional service & the location is perfect. I ordered the Italian for my Love medium and it was so delicious and the perfect size. The N.Y. steamer was amazing and reminded me of a lot of delis back on the east coast & Midwest that I'm accustomed to. The lack of 5 stars has to do with the mobile online ordering option - I completely finished everything but couldn't pay for the food - so I had to call the location and pay when I picked up the food.
Great sub place. You get a lot of food for the price and supports local firefighters. Sandwiches are fantastic. Toasted bread and steam baked so you get that crispy bread and moist and melty meat and cheese. Also sells in-house hot sauce made from datil pepper which is only in St Augustine Florida. Kid-friendliness: They have a kids meal and you even get a little fire fighter hat! Parking: Smallish parking lot Dietary restrictions: Offers gluten free bread options.
Been here half a dozen times. The food is fresh but the service is lacking. The people are nice but they always forget things. Forget drinks, pickles, the sides are only half full at most; the lettuce is never drained so your sandwich comes soggy, etc.
Food is good but the wait times are crazy long. 30 minutes or more, today was 45 minutes for an online order. I put a stop watch on and at one point there were 10 minutes between completed orders. I saw 5 employees but usually only one or two were preparing food with a store full of customers. I just can't go here anymore with the long waits.
the sub was good, the order-ahead, not so much. I accidentally ordered for 11:05 instead of 12:05 and when I called the store at 10:45 to fix it they'd already made my sandwich. were they expecting it to sit there for 20 minutes until I picked it up? not ideal in my opinion. this location gets BUSY at lunch which is why I ordered ahead but if I come back I'll wait in line for a fresh meal.
The bread was cold and dry. The lettuce looked like it was a day away from spoiling. I have been to many Firehouse Subs locations, and never had a bad sandwich until now. Not only will I never return to this location, but it was so bad that it will be a while before I can eat a meal from them again. It was honestly that bad. A shame because I typically can't say enough good things about them. I ordered a Hook and Ladder on 12/7/22 at 12:44pm #10031
Clean place but took 30 min to get food. People behind us got there food before us. Only 5 customers in the store at the time. Got home ordered a medium got a small sandwich. Sandwich was soaked in sauces. Boyfriend sandwich same thing wrong size soaked sauce. Oh and everytime we order never get this magical pickle they always offer.
Not impressed, I should've taken a photo of my sad little Cajun chicken sandwich. The bread was soggy, there were barely any toppings, no tomato like it should have, average portion of meat, heavy on the sauce. I think the only thing I can say I actually liked about this experience was the complimentry pickle.
Great sub location. The price is reasonable and the restaurant helps local firefighters. Sandwiches are wonderful. Toasted bread and steam-baked so that the bread is crisp and the meat and cheese are moist and melty. Additionally, they sell a house-made hot sauce produced from datil pepper, which is unique to St. Augustine, Florida.
