Firehouse Brewing Company

About

Located in the heart of Downtown Rapid City SD, Firehouse Brewing Company features craft beer brewed in-house, unique Midwestern dishes, and live music.

Story

"The Firehouse" as it is called by locals, is one of Rapid City's most unique and interesting landmarks. Housed in the original Rapid City firehouse, a structure built in 1915, it is listed on the National Historic Register. The bar is adorned with authentic South Dakota firefighting memorabilia from the days of Rapid City's first fire brigades - including the original fire pole, ladders, patches and more.
Our Restaurant is open daily and offers a diverse selection of specialties including locally sourced buffalo burgers, Rancher's Pie, barbecue with home-made sauces and more. Families love our kid's menu, root beer and free firehats! Sit inside, or under our heated outdoor patio - complete with beautiful views of downtown Rapid City, fire-pits and live music during summer months.
For 25 years Firehouse Brewing Company has been crafting a wide variety of beer styles in the heart of downtown Rapid City.
From hearty stouts and unique seasonals, to crisp ciders and lagers - the rotating menu has something for every beer drinker. Proudly micro - we brew on an 8 barrel system

Our server was super awesome and checked on us often. We had the Hook and Ladder my choice was 1/2 Ruben Sandwich and a cup of Gorgonzola Ale and the South African Cricket Burger with fried. My Sandwich and soup was really good, but the bread was a little over toasted. But not enough to make me not eat it and the soup was amazing. The Burger was Excellent and the fries were the same as most other places, just average.nThe atmosphere was neat! Lots to look at.nI would absolutely recommend this as a stop to make!
A great place to stop for a beer or two and a meal.nWe liked their large menu, that included some vegetarian options like soup, salad, and Beyond Burgers. They can substitute a Beyond Burger patty on any of their burgers in the menunI had the fish tacos, which were pretty yummy but could have used a little more spicy sauce.nMy wife had the tuna salad, which was fairly good, but a small portion for a dinner salad.nThe Firehouse Red Ale was pretty good and reminded me a lot of more authentic Irish Red Ales that I have had in the past.nService was fairly good.nThey have indoor and outdoor seating options, and a nice bar area, too.nI would recommend it for casual dining and for their great menu and beer selections.
We were given a recommendation to eat here when we rented our car. Unfortunately, we were disappointed in the food. Our server was nice, no issues there-but, the meat brisket and ribs was luke warm, over cooked and bland. They were out of baked potatoes, so I opted for mash, which I thought was gravy-watery and just not nice. It was an extra $4 dollars to opt for a salad which seemed a bit of a rip off for iceberg lettuce. The fries weren't too bad and came with ranch dressing, a nice touch. Beer and margaritas were fine. It seems like a popular place, with a great location; but, maybe don't opt for the BBQ.
We don’t know what was better..the food, the atmosphere or the service! All three were absolutely amazing! The restaurant was built inside an old brick firehouse and was decorated with so much antique fire equipment! They did a great job displaying everything. If you are coming in on the I90, from the east, keep watching for all of the antique fire trucks…you can’t miss them! There are so many, you could lose count! What an awesome and unique advertisement and marketing idea! It definitely made us want to stop by!
Amazing service and yummy appetizer. I recently dined at at this delightful restaurant that truly impressed me! The food was exceptional, showcasing fresh ingredients and creative flavors. The service was attentive and friendly, making the experience even better. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, perfect for a casual meal or special occasion. I highly recommend this gem to locals and visitors alike—it's a must-try for anyone looking to enjoy quality dining!
