This park was the final stop in our 2 week trip. Park was not overly busy. Nice boat launch area with fish cleaning station. Park was very clean including comfort stations and washrooms. The staff was amazing! Beautiful place to kayak! We will be back!
Its a good place to visit for camping and swimming. Lake view is beautiful and lake is clean. They have lots of places surrounding lake where you can go swim, but be careful of sea-planes. People find it noisy but its not bad, i only heard 3 planes in full day. Washroom were clean, shower station were closed. You can Buy wood from park office and they also have kayak rental & canoe rental.
We visited this park for the first time from Toronto and we really enjoyed our stay there over the labour day long weekend. The park staff are welcoming and friendly and super helpful to get you any info you may need. The park itself is beautiful and kept very clean. The campsites vary in size so be sure to read the site descriptions carefully so you’re not surprised or disappointed. The washrooms and shower facilities are kept clean as well so no worries there. The park is located right by the lake so there is a nice docking area to launch a boat, canoe or kayak or just fish from the dock if you like. The park has a few beaches but they aren’t big at all but still work to take a quick dip in the crystal clear lake to cool off if you like. The camping here is awesome and we really enjoyed it. People in other reviews are right with the slight noise as the park is near a main road and lake that has motorized boats and seaplane access. As you can see with my 5 star rating it did not bother us at all as the road noise was minimal and the seaplane was cool to watch the couple of times it flew a day but the morning takeoff was quite the wake up alarm some days that gave us some good morning laughs when we woke up late. If you’re looking for absolute remote camping silence it might not be for you. Campsites are kinda close to each other but everyone was very respectful so we had a fantastic time there and I absolutely would come back again someday.
It was really good. Yes there are airplanes that comes once in a while but the park has surprised me and many good ways. On Monday in the holiday the first airplane was 7:50am I didn’t mind since I wake up early anyways. Comparing to Algonquin the camps are smaller but the park is much more “nature” then Algonquin.
A much easier climb than I imagined on a very stable, well constructed and safe structure. Took my hounds up too and they did great! Beautiful view and access to great hiking trails from the same location!
Amenities Positive things: Washrooms, Bath house , fish point for cleaning , a lot of garbage bins, at the gatehouse have ice and firewoodthey sell until 9pm and the price is cheaper , playground, beaches are small , but all the amenities is fair cleaner and organized. Negative things: Dogs cannot barking. Fine 70$ Music : need be done by 7pm and cannot be loud anytime, the NEGATIVE thing is this they don't permit any music like little higher even its not higher they came and ask to turn off. This park is most for calming and not sound site. We are talking by night and they suddenly came and ask rude us to turn off the sound and the music aren't loud even can hear from the road. The water airplane we don't hear a lot of times on this specially site 96 . We are in front of washroom and bathhouse. Another positive : the sky is amazing on this site but have some sites near to the highway you cannot see this sky. The fireplace is good and have a picnic table very good . The campground was very clean when we get there . However, we can certainly go back them because the structure is very clean and organized. The security team is always around they maintain the safety very well.
Some of the most helpful, polite and friendly park staff ive ever interacted with. They went above and beyond to make sure I had an awesome time there. They even looked into questions I had about fishing licences and helped me buy a bag of dry firewood after it rained all week! I hope everyone's experiences are like this at all Ontario Parks!
I’d never been to the park before but needed to stay one night while I was passing through town and I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the park. The front office/store was fairly new looking and they had a variety of merchandise including park stickers available. The park offers several docks to keep your boat on the water. The site we stayed at was #12 and it had lots of privacy. It’s beside a cabin but no other campsites near it and it overlooks the water careful for kids or dogs as there is no fence to prevent falling into the water. The bathrooms and showers look new and clean and the water is hot and potable. We really enjoyed our stay here.
Wonderful provincial park. Water is town water. Make sure you bring extensions for power and water hookups as connections are in weird locations on your campsite. Had excellent mobile reception. Toilets and showers were good, if far away. If towing a RV/fifth wheel go with the campsites in the 100 series. The sites on the hill close to the admin office are beautiful, but not even for leveling, and very tight for occupying.
Very clean and beautiful park! Spent our first time camping here and absolutely loved it. We stayed in lot 40 and loved the elevated camping lot - highly suggest when going to book check out what the lot looks like before purchasing as some can be small/close to neighbors/not very private/or not have a picnic bench most come with a picnic bench and all come with a fire pit. The staff were super courteous and throughout the park I had 4-5 bars of LTE phone signal strength. Make sure you bring everything you need water, food, soap as the town is quite small and the next big city is over an hour away. As well the beaches are tiny and no trails so it can get a little bit boring if you don't like to fish or boat. Don't forget to bring your provincial park passport to get the sticker for Temagami!
