Legendary junction photo supply shop. Lots of amazing stuff for rent, some film for sale, but one thing is for sure- the friendliest and most knowledgeable staff. This is not a go-buy-a-new-camera store, this is for the working photo professional. However they have lots of things for sale and are open to the public. I would drop in and say hi, these kinds of authentic photo shops are rare!
Toronto traffic had me miss the close by just a couple minutes, but I had called prior asking about a clamp. The gentleman saw me pull up to the front door and actually came back, parked, and unlocked the store to help me out. Would 100% bring my money there for that experience alone- super cool guy, well stocked store, good prices.
They have some decent stuff, but as someone who has been here several times I truly can't say they are anything spectacular. Today, I was hoping to buy some various film to test a new SLR camera and the woman working today could hardly be bothered to assist us and made us feel like our presence was an inconvenience. I even notice something else I would have purchased but didn't want to bother her again and decided it wasn't worth it. Next time I'll be taking my business elsewhere, even if I have to travel a farther distance.
some of the worst service i’ve ever encountered. makes to me sad to see that others have also had this experience. the woman working had no interest in helping me and made a point of saying that the screening process for rentals is very intense and that they are VERY careful about who they rent to….good job on making photography feel pretentious and inaccessible
I’m certainly not happy with this place now and won’t be coming back. I previously gave a five star review for this location see below review posted a year ago and have been a loyal customer for their supplies until today. However, just today I went to pick up a backdrop that I regularly purchase from them and was surprised to find out they had raised their prices over 30%+. Their justification was that they’re charged more for it now. Not only that, but my request for help with the backdrop was met with a sour expression and condescending refusal, along with a cavalier attitude towards me as a loyal customer. I’m not going to do business with a store that treats me like that. This was from a lady who was working at the storefront at the time who genuinely acted as if she’d rather be at any other place. I truly hope she’s not a permanent employee or a representation of the company. How sad. Previous Review Posted a Year Ago *The other reviews certainly don't lie for the service and professionalism here at this wonderful location. I've been here on multiple occasions, and the staff's help and advice is clearly second to none. Would highly recommend.*
The staff is professional and with an incredible knowledge. The equipment is always perfect and checked for me. This is my perfect business partner in photography and film. Thanks to all you guys for making me look so good.
Great well-supplied film store probably one of the last in Toronto selling Fuji pro 400H but I will echo the other reviews I’m saying the employees were condescending. I asked a question about a certain film stock and she told me if I had to ask I should just put it back.
Hands down, one of the best places to rent photography gear. I've been to a lot of rental locations and Guy and his staff have always been there on countless shoots for me. From film to digital, Film Plus has always been able to meet my needs when I've rented. They are huge supporters of the professional photography community in Toronto, and they're worth giving your business to - great customer service.
This is Toronto's hidden gem for photography service. Since finding these people years ago, I have not returned to Henry's or Vistek or any of the BIG stores. At Film Plus I have received good, old school customer service. Nobody tries to sell me anything. They educate and guide me through my problem solving. Of course I buy stuff there! Why would I go any place else? This is my "goto" place for studio supplies and photo gadgetry. They try fixing before pushing replacements. I would add more stars to this review if that would make a difference. I recommend these good people highly indeed.
