Really like this place. It has everything going for it: great location, fun atmosphere, great food, and warm, efficient, service. There's seating out on the street and in the back, both looked good places to dine and people watch. They offer all day breakfast, so that's what we opted for. The Energy Breakfast and the Film City Breakfast were both delicious and we were very satisfied. The portions are generous and the prices are fair. This place is a winner, would eat here again without hesitation. Highly recommend.
The breakfast bagel sandwich was filling and delicious- the side salad was refreshing and also a great addition. The coffee was good, I would like to try one of their specialty drinks since they have some unique and interesting combinations. This cafe offers lots of indoor and outdoor seating in a great area of Kensington market. Definitely recommend you stop in and check them out.
The food is absolutely delicious! It was a bit loud inside with the music playing which made it difficult to hear the server and have a conversation. That being said the music was good and added to the overall good vibes. I recommend visiting and trying it for yourself.
Such an amazing cafe, I can’t wait to come back! The vegan sandwich was absolutely delicious, loved every bite. I also got the Sakura latte which was sweet and pink and amazing only recommend if you like sweet drinks. The French toast was also really good, wasn’t too sweet.
I've walked by this place before and got a latte on the go as they have a seperate window for take out. I was super intrigued with their Japanese-inspired menu and decided to dine in and try it. I got the Tokyo Omelette and loved it! Took everything I usually liked to eat separately and put it together in one menu item. It was super filling and worth the price. Would go back and try the rest of their menu!
Really great atmosphere and live music! We got Takoyaki which was hot, fresh, and delicious. We also got a Sakura latte which had a wonderful flavor. Service was also really friendly, but it took some time for the food to come out. They do have some ready made snacks like empanadas though. Definitely recommend if you're in Kensington Market and are looking for drinks or snacks.
The café is rather small, so you need to reserve if you’re going in groups. They offer all day breakfast and also have live music on Thursday and Friday nights. They support young musicians which is amazing. Their menu has Japanese fusion option and also vegetarian/vegan options. Also good variety of cocktails, hot cocktails, milkshakes and smoothies. They also offer cakes and cookies, which you need to ask staff about them cause they’re not listed on the menu. We ordered “Japanese Poutine”, “Teriyaki Chicken Don”, “Tiramisu”, “Hot Mojito” and “Avocado Banana Smoothie”. We wanted to try some cake after our meal, but we were so full that we need to go back to try some. Lol
Went on Sunday for brunch, sitting on the patio. The food was good and something we never had before. We wished the onigiri was seasoned it was plain and dry. Seems like they are short on staff so we had to wait for our service. They also didn't have enough umbrellas for the patio so at one point we had direct sunlight on us for a bit.
awesome cafe! fair prices and a great place to study or meet a friend. must try the matcha hot chocolate. the banana hot chocolate is also delicious but more sweet if that’s your preference staff is also very kind and patient with menu questions.
Love a café that opens till late night like Film Cafe. Cosy located in Kensington market. Visited here twice, both weekend nights. Loved the pub-felt ambiance with good live music performances from local artists. Servers were friendly as well. They are usually very busy during the weekend. Drink selection was diverse with a lot of flavored latte. Really like their iced pink sakura latte 6$ which tastes very close to an addictive strawberry milk. The first time I came here it was a bit noisy due to live music performance so the barista at the counter actually misheard my order: The second time was better tho. Make sure to repeat and verify with the barista about your drink order. Not sure if this is the best place for some cute pictures at night time, but surely a good place to chill during a weekend evening. Would recommend.
