Tried ordering lunch 20 minutes before the end time. Got denied the lunch special simply because it's a holiday. Not sure what that has to do with anything when their website only displays the lunch specials between 12 and 3pm. So just BE ADVISED lunch specials are NOT honored during the holidays..
The Chinese food is excellent, mostly. Sushi and Japanese food, however, needs some help. The maki rolls are cut very very wide- my child, who LOVES a good Cali roll, cannot fit one pics of 6 rather than 8-10 into her mouth- so I suppose I’ll keep buying from Big Y, which is crazy. It seems like an outrageous problem to waste food because we cannot fit a bite in our mouths. I keep trying this place because once upon a time they had really great food. Also, they tend not to send ginger & wasabi with their sushi- just 27 packs of soy sauce, yep I counted- 27 packs! Talk about waste…
This was my first time. It will also be my last. I ordered two maki rolls. The avocado in the California roll wasn't ripe I mean so hard that whoever made the roll knew when they cut it, and I swear, they had peeled away a strip of the crab stick so the piece was only 2/3s in size. The salmon skin roll? Advertised as having burdock root which I love. Nope, not at all. And to round things off, no wasabi, no ginger. The boneless spare ribs? At the bottom of the container, at least two ounces of liquid grease. The steamed broccoli? Old and stinky. The attitude of the young lady behind the window? Completely disinterested in being welcoming or polite.
Half of our food was inedible and potentially unsafe. Chicken wings tasted and smelled rotten, could not swallow one bite. Scallion pancakes were overcooked to the point of becoming deep fried chips. BBQ spareribs were bland with no sear marks. Fried rice was not actually fried and contained large clumps of white rice. Orange chicken was so spicy it was completely inedible. General Tso's chicken was also very spicy and tasted the same as the orange chicken. The egg roll tasted like it was contaminated with industrial cleaner. Would not recommend going to Feng Ye. Concerns about food safety practices and quality of the food preparation. Save your money.
Reasonably priced but extremely greasy and ultimately got us sick . We got a pupu platter for 2 with sides of pork fried rice and lo mein. everything was greasy besides the crab rangoons and the chicken fingers. The crab rangoons are excellent I will say that like extremely delicious and worth a try but everything else was not .
Ordered takeout from Feng Ye. We ordered quite a few things. I've been really looking for a place that has some great Crab Rangoon's and this one has one of the best. Perfect proportions, smooth and creamy filling, and a nice crisp and crunchy texture. They have a good selection of special rolls and we ended up trying a few of those too. The best one was definitely the Centipede Roll. It has double shrimp tempura, avocado, cucumber & eel and topped with crab meat, mixed tobiko & chef special sauce. Super tasty! The other notable one was the MA Roll. It has double shrimp tempura, spicy tuna, cucumber rolled w. soybean wrapper with crab meat and chef special sauce topping. My only complaint, which is incredibly minor is that the rolls came apart pretty easily. I'm sure it was jiggles loose in transit and would be better to eat in house but as I said, pretty minor. Definitely worth a try!
Tasty. Happy to give the new owners of this establishment a thumbs up on the new menu. Taste to price value ratio is amazing. Lunch specials for around 7 bucks for a good portion of food. I look forward to trying more of their menu as time goes on. The restaurant has a funky side entrance that could get a bit better signage from the front, but they deserve kudos for their fast and modern POS system for payment once you get there.
I love the flavor. Food is always fresh. Take out only.Food: 5/5
So good! Stopped for the first time tonight and so glad I did. The hot and sour soup is the best that I've had in a long long time. Egg rolls were incredibly yummy. Lo mein had so many fresh veggies. Everything was an excellent price and tasted amazing. I will definitely be back!
I loved this place. They have awesome fried rice. Their sushi rolls are wonderful. I have spent a ton of money with them. The last 2 times I've ordered delivery out of probably 20+ The first time the delivery driver got into an argument with me and raised his voice because he was having difficulty finding my home with his gps. I figured "whatever everyone has bad days, this food is still great" This second time, I ordered 2 general Tso's chicken meals D27. I received two chicken finger meals D7. I called and politely explained the situation. I was informed that I "did not order the general tso's" and that if I wanted the order made right it was going to cost me.. They're the ones that messed this up. I hope this makes it to the owners eyes. Type my name into your system, look up my address, and kiss all of that business goodbye. In addition, I will be spreading this experience to every person I've ever recommended Feng Ye to.
