Story

Faye Smith Makeup & Hair began in 2007 when Faye started training for makeup in England, UK. Faye’s teacher, Emma, saw a special talent in her and after only three months of training, began hiring Faye as her assistant working on Opera Shows in Birmingham City. Aged 19 and craving an adventure, Faye decided to travel to Canada to further develop her skills by enrolling in the Global Makeup Program at Blanche Macdonald in Vancouver, BC. By the time Faye had graduated in August 2009, she was well on her way to a successful career as a freelance makeup and hair artist.

Now, Faye Smith Makeup & Hair has grown into a network of extremely talented artists whom she considers to be of the same calibre (if not better, she jokes) as herself in both physical skill level, experience, and work ethics. This means that at all times, every client is receiving the very best service, bridesmaids and grads included.

“I am so meticulous about my business. I love my work and I love my clients. I am constantly striving for perfection, not only as a solo artist, but as the team of artists Faye Smith Makeup & Hair has become. Although I am very picky about selecting who will be on my team, if I see something special in a new stylist, I am very happy to mentor them; after all, this is how I grew to where I am now”, says Faye.

Faye and her team work in all areas of the makeup and hair world, including weddings, special events, beauty, fashion, photo shoots, commercial, theatre, film, stage, one-on-one lessons, public group lessons, and more. In addition to that, Faye is now a makeup and hair educator for professionals.

“In my career so far, I have learned a lot from other stylists, and continue to do so. I want to share what I know with others alike. We all have our different techniques and methods that work best for us. I provide affordable hair and makeup workshops at different levels where stylists can come to practice and learn new techniques”.
