we ordered: spicy boat noodle pho rice noodles, chicken curry shanghai wide noodles, century egg with house tofu. All of. them are good. We like the boat noodles the most. Despite the 3 chili signs, they can make it less spicy regular should be okay if you can take medium spice; Services are good they even showed us a picture of the different kinds of noodles they offered. Not a place that you can sit and talk because people are waiting. Last call at 8:15pm.
WOW factor is definitely here at Fat Mao!! Service was fast and friendly. The Braised Duck Noodle was soooo good with the Rice Sheet Noodle. Duck leg was tender and flavourful. The broth was so amazing that I had to drink it all. Will have to try their downtown location too. Heard that some items are different there.
The hot and sour pork noodles is hands down the best item on the menu. It’s full of flavour and loaded with ingredients. The braised duck noodle was too mild and overall not that tasty. We also ordered the mapo tofu which had decent flavour but for $17, the portion was small and not worth it. I’ve also tried the spicy boat noodles and thought it was just alright, nothing spectacular. Fat Mao is great if you’re looking for something quick and comforting, but just note that some items are a hit or miss.
We order spicy boat noodles and braised duck noodles for to go. Spicy boat noodles is VERY good, soup is flavorful and spiced very nicely, 5 stars. Braised duck noodles is mediocre, 3 stars. Given the price is a bit higher end, I want to give 3.9 stars. It's a place worth to try and i would definitely go back for the spicy boat noodles But not the duck noodles.
Had the spicy boat noodles and my friend had the braised duck noodles. Service was great and they offered us Thai Iced Tea for the delay in our order. The noodles and meat were cooked perfectly. My friend and I did prefer the broth on the Spicy Boat Noodles.
DELICIOUS FOOD! The broth was not overly salty but still so much flavor. The Roti appetizer was bomb we ordered another!! Food came out fast. Service was good. Bathroom was clean. Cannot recommend enough!
Hot and sour pork noodle is so awesome. It’s so delicious. But braised duck noodle is too mild which is different taste from downtown location. We also ordered wing bean salad which is spicy and flavor. Don’t forget to order thai milk tea and roti!Recommended dishesHot and Sour Pork Noodles
Delicious! I first heard about this restaurant a couple months ago in a show called "you gonna eat here" hosted by John Catucci and I gotta say, it really lived up to the name! I ordered the hot and sour pork noodles and it was really spicy and had a very strong flavor with humongous portions, by the time I finished I was beyond stuffed. The service was incredibly polite and kind with quick service and classy and chic ambiance. 10/10 will be back for more.
Tried the Boat Noodles with Fat Wide Vermicelli sub and was obsessed. The broth was so deep and flavorful and didn’t have excessive if any at all? five spice which so many boat noodles out there do. Perfect mix of spicy, tangy and savory umami. Beef was also super super tender
It tastes better than I expected. The curry chicken leg noodles and duck leg noodles are highly recommended, with just the right amount of sweetness to make the noodles stand out.Food: 5/5
