First time going to Fancy’s and had an excellent experience. Valet took care of our parking upon arrival. We had a reservation and were sat quickly upon arrival. Ambience was very nice and the noise level was moderate. I had the smoked pineapple margarita with the salmon and side of mac n’ cheese. Everything was excellent. Also tried the Cajun pasta which was very good size. Our waitress, Brooke, did an excellent job. She was always available without being overbearing. Because one of our sides was slow coming out they gave it to us along with a complimentary dessert for free. Bathrooms were clean. Had a great view of the river and you could take a walkway over to Tom Lee Park. Would recommend to anyone for dinner, especially date night. Entrees run about $20-$50 each. Parking: Valet was quick.
Fancy’s is a must try!! The atmosphere is top tier and the service is even better. The complimentary valet is always the PERFECT solution for downtown hectic parking. The drinks weren’t as strong as most 5 star restaurants are but the flavor was delicious. I really enjoyed the gumbo. It was seasoned perfectly and had the right amount of seafood inside. The crab cakes and the fish and chips were fresh and fried perfectly. Even the fries were seasoned well. I will definitely be back! It’s an upscale restaurant so dressing up is preferred in my opinion. The reservations book up quickly so it’s best to plan ahead.
You can dress pretty comfortably here, the environment is pretty casual. Duck tacos were good, fries were good, fries green tomatoes were good, but the crab cakes didn’t have any flavor and were full of shells with each bite, and the potatoes they were served with were bland. We were left very disappointed considering the price. They have outdoor seating and you do get a view of the river from inside the restaurant. It’s not a panoramic view, but you can definitely see it if the windows are left open. You even have the option to walk outside the front of the restaurant for a better view. Street parking and valet parking is available. Parking in the nearby garage was around $7 per hour.
The food is delicious! I had the halibut and it was perfectly cooked. It was paired with a cream sauce that was packed with flavor. My mouth is watering thinking about it. Also , the staff was friendly and professional. They were inviting and accommodating . The atmosphere is amazing. Truly, no complaints and that’s nearly impossible on an opening night. This is just what downtown Memphis needed. I can’t wait to go back!
I definitely recommend Fancy’s!! The lobster bisque was wonderful, the fish and chips were so crispy, well seasoned, light, and not fishy at all. My husband had the cobia chef’s special, which he said the fish was really good, the mushrooms were also good, but the potatoes needed seasoning. The only complaint I have is the bottom of one of a glass was really dirty and gross looking. I didn’t say anything to them because there wasn’t anything to be done about it, but I did get pretty grossed out by it. Everything else was very clean and the atmosphere was SO cute. The service was outstanding!! Our waitress was above and beyond. We will be back!!
Hands down a fantastic experience. The seafood tower is amazing. The oysters are some of the freshest I've had in Memphis. My salmon was cooked to perfection and the deviled egg vinegarette was mind blowing. I could have drank the broth of the mussels. Everything was phenomenal from the food to the service.
$1 oysters during happy hour! I wish HH was offered on Fridays, but it’s all good. Great deal if you’re into raw oysters and looking for somewhere in Memphis. We’ve been several times, but only for drinks and oysters. The service is OK, not spectacular, but not terrible. The food items sound good and it smells great inside. I like the decor too, super cute.
We were very excited to try this restaurant- however we left feeling it was a miss rather than a hit. We have been asked if we recommend this restaurant, sadly it was “no”. The nautical decor of the venue is great. The mussel appetiser, oysters, kale salad, cocktail and Alaskan halibut dish were yummy. The gumbo was good, however it tasted just like the mussels dish. The “jumbo” shrimp was definitely not “jumbo”, and was definitely not worth $21, they were 5 small shrimp. And the $47 filet Mignon was very disappointing. The filet Mignon was tender we ate what we could however we asked for it to be cooked medium as it was our daughter, and it came out medium rare and more to the rare side. We had it returned for further cooking, and it was returned to us the same. We were not able to eat all the filet Mignon, and when asked if we wanted to pack it up to take away, we declined due to how rare it was. We were also charged for $7 for fries, as she asked for fries instead of the fingerling potatoes. And although our mussels were comped had no idea why, we also had to ask for the Brussel sprouts that we never received they were suppose to come with the filet Mignon, and was not given to us until we had to leave.
Amazing food and drinks! The hostess was friendly. Markela, our waitress was hands down the best we have had all week in Memphis! She was so personable, helpful, has the sweetest smile! We may have to come back before heading home. Thank you for a great experience!
Hubby and I tried Fancy’s for the first time. The atmosphere, location, and dining experience was perfect! The food was delicious and our server recommended a terrific cocktail. The black raspberry lemon drop! Very good! Our overall experience was a great one.
