Fairmont Hot Springs Resort

The food at the restaurants was very good, and reasonably priced. The staff was friendly as well. No complaints there. But for $275 a night I had a lot higher expectations. Everything seemed a little out dated and I know its not easy to renovate, but I've stayed in Canmore for half the price and had a much nicer room. The people do their best but it needs a face lift or a drop in price.

Amazing customer service, amazing place to stay and rest. Family oriented and quiet. Front desk ladies were fantastic, cleaning crew just as friendly and willing to help. Guest pool was clean, natural, no lousy smells and everything was within a short walk. Highly recommend this place and we will definitely come back.

We stayed here this weekend for a wedding. While the wedding and surrounding areas were beautiful, our stay was disappointing. Our phone wasn't working, TV kept shutting off every 3 minutes and plug in by the bed didn't work. When we tried to call down to the front desk, nothing changed. At the end of our stay we brought up our concerns to the front desk and were told they didn't offer discounts but offered a "free coffee or smoothie" at one of the resort restaurants. We are understanding people but did not leave this resort as happy customers.

I've always enjoyed Fairmont. I really don't understand why they haven't renovated. As usual the pools were great to swim in. But, they are also very aged. The cabin was dog friendly with a large stain in the living room carpet. When we booked our stay we received coupons for breakfast. I had the meat lovers skillet, I'll show pic. Doused in hollandaise sauce with what seemed yesterday's breakfast sausage. The staff were friendly & the yards are absolutely beautiful ! In my opinion, it's all about the swimming !!

The hotel itself is very dated and does have a musty smell. If only they would invest in some renovations this place could be restored to its former glory! The restaurants at the resort have average food, and the wait times were unacceptable (1 hour to get breakfast with three hungry young children trying to sit still and not go crazy). One of the waitresses wouldn't accept our tip out of sheer decency. I quote she said "this is ridiculous, I can't take your tip, I'm sorry". She was so nice and trying so hard but obviously frustrated with the other wait staff, hostesses and cooks. Despite all this, the only reason this place is getting 3 stars and not 1 star, is proximity to the pools and the amenities they have for kids on the grounds (bouncy castles, mini golf) which made the stay easy and enjoyable for our kids (and vicariously, this made us happy, because they were happy).
