Great food, the menu reminds me of a Californian restaurant. Great fish, beef and lot...
The Front desk was nice and always had a smile on their faces. The interior is nicely done, bright and clean. The rooms are complete with fridge & microwave which are very helpful when you have been travelling the whole day and even has a complimentary breakfast. Worth every penny and had an overall good stay. This is a good hotel.Rooms: 5/5
Clean, pleasant, quiet rooms. Linoleum "wood" floors instead of dirty carpet is a real plus. Air conditioning was fabulous. Bed was comfortable. There is a bar in the hotel. Service and staff was adequate. Free breakfast was quite frankly, awful. Powdered eggs I couldn't eat. Juice and milk are extra charge...fresh fruit salad and sausage was all I could eat. I didn't even bother to eat after the first morning. This is a pleasant hotel I would recommend for a decent price, but don't expect a nice breakfast.
The room was good, clean and well designed. Appreciated the bottles of water in the room. No tea in the room, only coffee. I had specifically booked here because they offer a proper breakfast, so it was quite disappointing when several of us were turned away due to lack of space in the dining area, with no takeaway option. We were asked to come back, whcih we did twice, and they were full each time. And it's impossible to find breakfast in Calgary at 10am on a Sunday unless you're able to wait an hour as all restaurants are busy. Royal Hotel should reconsider how they can adequately include for their guests everything they agreed to include. We will be booking elsewhere and planning on fast food so our travel schedule can be maintained.
Close to the airport and great restaurants. Clean and comfortable - one draw back is the pillows are big so they're hard to sleep on for a smaller person - a child would not be able to sleep on them. Otherwise a great place to stay!Rooms: 5/5
Nothing special. Actually i think ist slightly worse than nothing special. If you stay for more that one night they suck. I was told $100 deposit per night on my credit card. This is insane. For this reason alone, this will be my first and last stay at this place. For 3 nights they put a hold of way over $600 on my credit card for the room and deposit. First and last time here and I am a Platinum rewards member. I stay in many different hotels. Never do I get a hold like that on my CC.
Stayed on sept 9th for 1 night and I will never stay at the hotel again. We checked in at 730 pm and were given our room. We left at 750 for dinner. Came back around 9 pm to find someone else in our room and our personal belongings not in our room anymore. We go down to reception and were told that they weren’t sure if the belongings belonged to the guests that did not check out previously. I find that hard to believe as everything is automated and rooms were cleaned in between guests. They did not contact me prior to moving and searching through my belonging which as a paying customer for the night seems a little fishy. The hotel did not handle the situation appropriately. It seems that the hotel has complete disregard to guest safety. I really hope they changed the towels for the next guests since we used the hand towels because that is just unhygienic. The hotel in general is dirty. Both rooms had visible dirt on floor and light switches. The “breakfast” was disappointing as well. Would never stay here again and urge this hotel to do better in the future.
We stayed at the Royal Executive a few times and were never disappointed. However, our last stay wasn't good. We found dirty clothing under the edge of the bed, blood stains on the shower curtain, our keys quit working. We told the front desk and received no compensation. Their prices have increased. We will stay at another hotel.Rooms: 1/5
Nice modern hotel with well-appointed and spacious rooms. Recommend if you want to stay somewhere close to the airport. Breakfast buffet has what what you would expect and staff are friendly.Rooms: 5/5
Ideally located by the airport 15 minute drive and several restaurants 5minutes. We stayed pre and post a vacation at Banff. Both times were met with hvac issues. The first night the hvac unit was extremely noisy to the point it was hard to sleep. The second stay, the unit stopped working late in the evening which made for a warm night. The rooms are basic , nothing extravagant. The feel inside is very institutional. We felt we were in a government or hospital building, not that it impacts the stay There is a morning breakfast with the regular fare like eggs, sausage, French toast, toast and cereals. Be aware you will have to purchase juice should you want one The rates for both stays were under 200 a night. Next time we may find something newer and updated
Clean room, comfortable beds, on par with mid to upper Wyndham properties. Everything was fine except the Internet access was pretty much useless. Sending/receiving of emails failed numerous times only worked ocasionally. Had laptop, tablet and phone, all experienced the same issue. Landed up having to teather my phone on cell data to do work on my laptop. No good for a hotel when staying on business and good Internet access is a must. So 2 stars for them botching this, meaning the stay was just OK.
