EVN Television & Film Studios Training actors since 1989. EVN Television & Film Studio is one of Toronto's busiest Acting Studio, with Classes held seven days a week, year round.

Story

The Studio was established in 1989 and has since become one of Toronto's Premier Acting Studio with Classes from Beginners to Advanced Levels. Students from EVN Film Studios can be seen in all areas of media work - Feature Films, Television Series, Movies of the week, Commercials etc.

"EVN Film Studios is a Professional Acting Studio located in Toronto that conducts On-Camera Acting Classes from Beginners to Advance Levels. EVN is one of the busiest acting studios in Toronto with Award Winning Actors. Earl Nanhu has been training Actors since 1989. Recognizing a problem very early on about Actors being Dry, Cerebral and too Intellectual, Earl evolved his own style of teaching, a Spiritual Approach to the Craft of Acting, that brings a more grounded and organic presence to the actors' craft. A unique blend of Meditation and Art which has successfully enabled many of his students to land major roles in all forms of media work-Feature Films, TV Series, Movies of the Week, Commercials, etc."

Earl’s classes are something like no other classes out there! I’ve taken classes at a number of different studios, well known ones with good reputations, but nothing compares to Earls and his approach to training. I’ve learned to really tap into what is inside me, how to live a scene, a line, even a word. Earl’s approach to training is a masterful blend, of both spiritual and practical which has allowed me to become more mindful, more aware, a better listener and a better actor. I would recommend EVN to anyone, whether a new actor or a seasoned one, you will reach a new height in your acting journey. I have never met anyone like Earl nor have I ever had an acting teacher like him. Earl has a spiritual approach to the art of acting and has inspired me in so many ways. Earl is super woke!, experienced and professional in his teachings. He’s the type of acting coach that will tell you what you NEED to hear and not what you want to hear which has prepared and helped me to excel and understand the craft more. Every class is an eye opener, trust me when I say you’re literally relearning and unlearning everything you thought you knew about acting and the industry. I’ve been enrolled now for over 12 weeks and I can definitely say that I feel more confident, versatile and wiser in my craft than I ever did. A lot of acting studios and schools will charge so much money and teach you absolute FOOLISHNESS which gets you no where but EVN Studios is the real deal holy fill. PERIOD!!!

I have done a thorough research of acting studios and coaches in TO. I came across Earl and “EVN Film and Television Studios”, which resonated with me because of the unique spiritual approach to the art of acting. The spirituality to unlock awareness of just “being” and in the moment is inherent in all of us in life and in the art - “When the student is ready, the teacher will appear”. I’ve observed Earl’s mastery in bringing the actors in my beginners class to higher levels of conscious awareness, and can now see how acting comes to life. If you’re looking for an excellent acting coach, and workspace, I guarantee you that Earl is the only master in acting a “sensei” in TO and perhaps even other places around the world where he teaches who can hit the spiritual vein of the actor for that allusive awareness of “being” in momentary presence -- in life and in acting! As a beginner in the field, I found EVN to be exactly what I needed. The classes were engaging, thorough and insightful. Earl teaches in a way that is personable and challenges you to push past conventional myths related to the craft. I have done 12 weeks of training so far and will continue to work with EVN throughout my career. I would strongly recommend this studio to new and seasoned actors.
I have been training at EVN Film Studios for just over a year, and I am so grateful for the skills and knowledge I have gained here. The learning environment sets you up for success. It is comfortable enough that mistakes can be made while growing and learning from them. Actors are coached and challenged based on their particular weaknesses and skillset. The class sizes are small enough that each actor has a significant amount of time to further refine their craft. Through my training here, I have become comfortable tackling challenging audition pieces and making strong choices in scene work. Thanks to my training at EVN, I genuinely feel that I have grown tremendously over the past year, not just as an actor but also as a person.
I came to Toronto 2 years ago and began acting classes with Earl without knowing what to expect. A friend producer from London recommended it to me, saying that the actor Lyric bent took classes here. And I’m beyond grateful that our paths have crossed. His Spiritual approach during his classes lead the course to another level and make us complete actors. He is not only an acting teacher but also teaches us about the fundamental values in life such as love, communication, present moment, vulnerability, active listening: show’s us that everything is linked. That makes him an authentic coach. He is the best !
When you start looking for acting training, it can be confusing, overwhelming, and frankly, a bit intimidating. I myself had a million and one questions, coupled with beginner nerves and recommendations for several different studios, one of which was EVN studios. I chose Earl to begin my journey into the world of acting and am extremely glad I did as I feel my confidence in my craft and personal life skyrocket with every class. If like I was you are searching the GTA for the right fit to begin your education, I can not recommend Earl enough for his wise, honest and practical teachings to gain the necessary tools to navigate this notoriously cutthroat industry.
Earl’s approach to acting and life as a whole is just phenomenal. His classes make me feel so connected to myself and others.
