I’ve had wonderful experiences at this hospital. I’ve received treatment in the ER myself and spent a few times in there with my daughter. I’ve had a few radiology services and also had the pleasure to witness the birth of my grand daughter. The nursing staff and physicians always treat us with compassion and respect and I’m impressed with the cafeteria food.
My wife and were traveling through Evanston when she had a medical Emergency. The ER staff and Doctor were excellent with care and diagnosis which led to a surgical procedure. The surgical team led by Dr. Kendrick was outstanding in service, care and professionalism.. The MED-SURG nurses provided wonderful and compassionate care, answering all our questions and concerns. ERH is an outstanding hospital and we were so fortunate to be in the Evanston area during our time of need. Thank you. Steve and Marty Harker. 11/11/22
We are driving across country but had to pull over for the night due to some issues. My son was having some health issues, turned out he had appendicitis. Everyone we encountered was great. From the nurse, anesthesiologist, to the surgeon. The surgeon even chatted with us for a min. They took such great care of my little man. Glad we pulled off when & where we did. Thank you to everyone who played a part in getting my son on the road to recovery.
To say I am frustrated with Evanston Regional Hospital would be an understatement. The ER Doctor I saw in Dec 2022 lied in his charting and continues to lie regarding the level of care he provided. The hospital administration refuses to help and is siding with the doctor. The hospital over bills, yes I know it is a rural hospital, however so is the Park City Hospital and I can visit the Park City hospital for a fraction of what Evanston Regional charges. I would not recommend this hospital, save yourself a nightmare and drive to Utah.
ER staff was great. But billing way beyond worthless ten months still no bill. On top of that out country call center doesn't understand anything what joke
Went to to the hospital a little while ago, was there for two hours and the doctor came in one time. The nurse was not very friendly, I think her name was Hailey. I got a CT scan and that was it, the nurse came in and said I was being discharged. I had no idea what my diagnosis was at this point, I asked her “Well what is wrong with me?” And she looked at me and said “Oh they haven’t came and told you yet?” I said no. I was there for two hours and was charged almost $11,000. Been trying to contact the billing department for quite some time. I don’t recommend this hospital at all, the staff are rude and don’t care. I would hope that for them charging that much I would have at least received some sort of hospitality. Drive to Utah!
Terrible hospital, if you can even call it that. Took my wife to the emergency room because she was in so much pain she could barely move and had to sit in the waiting room for over an hour before they took us back to an examination room. We then proceeded to wait another 20 minutes before a nurse comes and and informs us that shift change was in 45 minutes so we would have to wait until then before a doctor could see my wife. After another hour over 2 hours in total at this point the doctor finally came in. I would absolutely never recommend this "hospital" even to my worst enemy. Edit to add: I recently had to get an x-ray done after getting injured on the job. Worker's comp paid for everything and they still tried to bill me for it after being paid by the state. Do not trust this hospital.
The hospital staff in the ER are amazing. They get five stars. The billing department for this hospital is a joke! If you call the hospital they transfer you to a off site customer service line. Where you will deal with rude, unprofessional, and completely untrained operators. I started a payment plan with them on December 2nd and it was set to auto withdrawal on the 15th of ever month. They did not withdrawal that first payment until the 17th. Two weeks later I receive an email telling me they have sent my account to collections due to the fact that I broke the payment agreement by paying two days late. ITS ON AUTO WITHDRAWL!!! You took the payment late! I then spent the next 4 months calling them 13 times to try and resolve this issue. I spoke with 5 people before one finally agreed to send my account for review. I then spent 3 more months trying to get an update on that review. NOTHING! After my 11th phone call they finally transferred me to a supervisor named Al, I explained the situation and was told he would have it resolved in 10 business days, and to call back. My 12th phone call led to an hour wait time with no answer. My 13th phone call I spoke to a team lead named Colla who informed me that this "Review" I was inquiring after didn't exist. And they had already decided back in January they were not going to reclaim the debt. This billing department does no care about its patients, it does not hold up to its end of the deal, and when they make a mistake they do not take responsibility for it! They will not honor a payment agreement. They will break it and then send you to collections. And after reading other reviews on this site, I'm not the only one they have done this to. I have never in my life had a company be so unprofessional or incompetent. UPDATE: 4-26-22 I was later contacted by April in the actual hospital billing department. She had personally reviewed my case, and had already had it fixed and pulled out of collections when she contacted me. I was able to work directly with her to start my payment plan back up as originally agreed. She was very professional, understanding, and apologetic. I could not be more grateful. It is my hope that this hospital will understand that the third party company they have their patients working with to settle their bills is not working. I hope they take this as well as the other reviews into consideration and go back to working directly with their patients to solve billing and payment issues.
I went in March for bloodwork as a self-pay individual. After spending 90 minutes getting checked in, I was told I would get a 40% discount for paying in full right then and there. I gladly paid the full amount and went about my way. Three months later I got a bill for 132% what I paid at my original visit. When I called their outsourced billing department they told me the payment I made was just based on an estimate and I'm liable for this amount. Further, if I have a dispute to talk directly to the person who processed my payment and pretty much washed her hands from the situation. When you call the hospital line and dial for billing, it redirects you to the same outsourced service. I'm not going to go sit and wait for two hours at the hospital when this issue shouldn't even happen in the first place. I had labs done again in June, and now I'm pretty sure I'll have another bill. is it really that difficult to give an honest price at the time of service? Evanston Regional is such a great asset to our community but their billing practices leave much to be desired but sadly for them, they are not the only option in town anymore. If I could leave 0 stars I would.
Billing issues!!! Had an accident was taken here. Billing claimed to have sent the bill to Medicaid. But never could get their system to work so I asked if I could take it to them And they refused. So instead of helping get my bill resolved they sent it to collections. So I ask Evanston regional hospital to please keep trying but they say their system isn’t working. They claim to have sent a paper bill to Medicaid but after calling Medicaid they never received anything from ERH. After a year Medicaid said they won’t even look At the bill now and so I’m stuck with$5000 bill that was going to be paid but because ERH couldn’t figure out their own billing system it’s stuck in collections hurting my score and hovering over me. Do not let the ambulance take you here because they will only screw you if they can. I’ve been calling Medicaid, ERH and collections since the end of 2019 when I had my accident and billing for ERH hasn’t done anything except claim to escalate my case but never gets back to me.
