Beautiful space, great coffee and small desserts, friendly staff. What more could you ask for? Well, you could ask for a beautiful bronze, "Fisher-boy Dancing the Tarantella" by Francisque -Joseph Duret the teacher of Carpeaux, right beside your table - but that would be super demanding, right? But you would get it. I ask for that in other cafés and they laugh at me.
The good: great lofty space designed by Frank Gehry - bright, open, great place to sit with a book on a sunny or rainy day, or during a resting break from gallery hopping. The bad: very limited selection of pricy beverages and bites. No water connection so you’ll have to purchase some perrier if you want water. Coffee was served on stained mug and saucer photo attached - really gross. Not expecting this level of carelessness for a $5 latte in an official institution like this. AGO you can do better, I believe in you...
Excellent hot chocolate with oat milk and a delicious artsy cheesecake we loved it and the place is quiet and beautiful
Very smooth coffee with a great view! They use pilot roasters which is a bonus
I can honestly say, their coffee is the worst I have ever had. I actually thought the milk went bad and asked for another one. Same watery, sour flavor. The roast is unbearably weak and flavorless with a weird lemony ping....yucks. Do yourselves a favor- have the tea!!!
It wasn’t busy but all the tables were filled with dirty cups so we had to clean up the table ourselves. When I brought the cups to the employee, she was on her phone using social media and didn’t even say thank you. Had to wait another 5min until she took our order because apparently she was busy with the cups we brought her. All happened today at around 1pm
Everything we ordered was amazing.Food: 5/5
Double espresso and bonbons were so good. The bonbons were inspired by one of the artists, Kusama. The espresso is excellent it is sweet lightly and rich froth. The bonbons were to die for and they were coloured in the style of the artist being featured.
A lovely spot to take a break while visiting the gallery. Fantastic Americano coffee. Its difficult to just have one. Very attentive and personable staff.
