Erie Community Credit Union is a full service financial institution providing its members with many savings plans, great checking options, loans for almost any purpose, and easy access to their accounts through our online and mobile services.

ECCU is open to all persons who live, work, worship, or attend school in Erie County, PA. Your family and friends can also take advantage of credit union benefits. Members can enjoy credit union services with a savings account deposit of just $5.00.

To join, simply print out our Membership Application found on our website and drop it off, mail it in or fax it to an ECCU branch. If you have any questions, please contact a Financial Service Representative at (814) 455-6400.

I went into this branch on 12/20/17 to deposit a check. Cashier said she couldn't do it and wasn't very pleasant when telling me so. Check was made out payable to myself and I have both savings and checking accounts at this credit union. When I questioned her as to why she went and spoke to a manager. 5 minutes later she came back and said the manager said they could not deposit my check. The manager did not bother to come out and speak to me despite the bank being empty except for myself. This check was for a large sum and the first of several I would have been depositing over the next several months. I took this same check to another credit Union I belong to the next day and despite not banking there in a while they were happy to deposit it for me. It of course cleared without any issues. I will be closing my accounts at Erie Community Credit Union and moving my money somewhere that is capable of doing routine transactions like DEPOSITING CHECKS!

The service is awful. You would hope to see some smiling faces or someone thanking you but no. If you try to call forget it. You will never get anyone. The worst place I have ever banked.

I haven't banked anywhere else since I got out of the Navy in 2007, so I can't compare them to a lot of places in town. However, they have had generally great service. They're able to make debit cards in house which is great in speeding up replacing a lost card. Checks deposited in night drop are immediately available. Their website and mobile app are uncomplicated and to the point, but still comprehensive enough. The tellars and other staff are always friendly and helpful. The only complaint I have is some phone services are outsourced and not very helpful or organized. Otherwise, in-person and web business has been stellar.

ECC holds our auto loan. They have been completely impossible to work with in the simple task of setting up an auto-payment. They never answer their phones, refuse to communicate with eachother on what the caller's issue might be, constantly are putting customers on hold or hanging up on them, and refusing to listen to the caller. I have been trying to set up an auto payment for 2 months now. Good luck trying to work with them if you are out of town- they only operate by snail mail and phone calls, which they never return. I deeply wish we had gone elsewhere.
