Wow! First time dining at a Michelin start restaurant in Toronto! We thoroughly enjoyed our anniversary dinner. Everything was delicious and perfectly plated! The wine pairing was and I appreciated that there was an option for juice pairing! In addition to the amazing food, I have to say that we have received the best service from Enigma Yorkville. Chef Quinton and his staff made us feel special and they all deserve 5 stars for hospitality! Thank you!
I had Chef’s table 10 course dinner. From the beginning to the end, their service was exceptional - I’d say top 3 in Toronto. The flow of food and combination of ingredients for each dish was mind blowing. Loved the chef’s explanation for each course. Cocktail pairing really boosted the flavour of each course. Definitely coming back to try their seasonally updated course menus.
I had a wonderful dining experience here. The service was impeccable, and food was delicious. The 8 course meal was a bit too much for me. I wish there was an a la carte menu. I also didn’t like how there were add-on during the meal for an extra cost. Also, if the reservation is right at opening, the restaurant should open a few minutes before, so we don’t have to wait in the cold. Thank for the small gift in the end, it was a pleasant surprise!
I visited Enigma Yorkville as a solo diner and had the standard 8-course tasting menu with cocktail pairing 230$ + 150$ per person. Everything was spotless, as expected at this price range and for a restaurant that received a Michelin Star. Every dish and cocktail pairing was delicate and thoughtful, the service was fast and dedicated, and I was pleased to see the chef, pastry chef, and some of the line cooks come present the dishes and engage in conversation with me throughout the service. All of the criticisms noted by other reviewers issues with service being too fast, issues with some of the courses being unbalanced, etc. simply didn't reflect my experience. I can only imagine that the team has been hard at work improving the menu and experience.
Fantastic experience - from the food to the service and decor. We had their Valentines Day special and it was amazing! Although they had an more Asian flavours than I expected, which was a bit too familiar for me..but it was well incorporated into their European menu. Bravo, Chef Quinton Bennett!! Service was exceptional - proper but welcoming/relaxed.
We were here 3 months ago and compared the offerings. Some of the dishes were very similar, and others completely new. What impressed us most are the dishes where the main ingredients are the same, but the flavors and preparation is new. It's like a good song that gets a refreshing remix. It's easy for a restaurant to stick to what works, but to reimagine the dish takes it to another level. The service here continues to be excellent, fast, and attentive, and their rapid ascent to star status has not made them complacent. Glad to have this wonderful place in town.
We enjoyed the tasting menu with premium wine pairing and I can say that every course felt very special. The space is intimate and the dishes reflect that very same sentiment with ingredients and combinations that keep surprising you as the evening progressed. I look forward to returning,
What an experience! We came for an 8 course dinner and it was delightful. The service was attentive and personable, the seafood courses were the highlights. There was a smoked mussel emulsion that we were just obsessed with. The desserts were so whimsical and delicious, I’m still thinking about them. Definitely a spot for special occasion.
Now THIS is fine dining. We came here for a special celebration and everyone in the restaurant knew about it. Each server came over to our table to congratulate me and the service was top notch. Every time we stepped out for a smoke, they would fold our napkins - that’s how you know. It was an 8-course menu with wine pairing for us. The food was absolutely delicious and very unique; truly a culinary journey with so many textures and flavours in each dish. I also want to mention that it’s a seasonal menu so dishes will change. We also got truffles and caviar for two of the dishes and it was definitely the cherry on top. It was definitely pricey for us for two tasting menus, wine pairing, truffles and caviar. But normally the tasting menu is $220pp. It’s definitely pricey compared to other places here but you won’t regret it.
Great ambience. I did the 7 course menu and there was so much food. They had salmon, lobster, chicken and Lamb for the meats. All the dishes were beautifully plated and you could see the effort. Overall, the flavors were herbal and refreshing a bit on the subtle side which I like. Staff were good. The kitchen is partially open so you can see the chefs working away . Cocktails were good too. Wine was a bit overpriced imo. They gave a little to-go breakfast bag which was delicious and a cute touch. Overall, great place to go for a treat. The only thing I found a bit off about this place was the "welcome" greeting that they chanted when guests walked in. Similar to Japanese izakayas . It makes sense in an Izakaya since it's loud and casual. But this place had an intimate vibe so the yelling seemed off and rough. There were no children at the venue thank god and I don't recommend taking them. Also, if you have a lot dietary restrictions you may not be able to try and enjoy every dish.
