Really wonderful experience on our first visit. From the moment we arrived the staff was welcoming, friendly, attentive and knowledgeable. Our group had the pleasure of trying a variety of innovative and well balanced cocktails from their menu, all of which were delicious and many featured Michigan made spirits. The food was innovative and flavorful with an excellent variety of options for all of the different palates in our group. The hard boiled egg with truffle custard and salmon roe was an exceptional bite! We capped it all off with some awesome desserts, the Nutella pie was so good. Will definitely recommend to others and look forward to returning next time I am in Kalamazoo, hopefully when it is warm and we can enjoy the patio.
Nice and friendly staff that’s the positive and the food did have some good taste. The soup was really good. They are confused of who and what they want to be. Atmosphere is lacking. Staff sitting around. It was clean but sterile. Drinks weren’t that good especially for price.
We had a great meal with wonderful service. Food is fresh and delicious. Great flavor combinations and dishes you won't have anywhere else! Perfect for a date night or just enjoying a great meal.
Every dish we tried was perfectly prepared. The service was amazing Ivy is an amazing waitress and has a sparkling personality the manager on duty was very accomodating.. the atmosphere was comfortable. We will be back soon!
Was told the menu changes daily, so who knows what they'll have tomorrow! But we had a few drinks aperol spritz with the homemade orange liquor was the winner, the others were a bit bitter for me and a bit muted in flavor, but my partner really enjoyed them, the tri tip steak with grilled pineapple was fantastic rice was slightly under cooked, and the grilled chicken with cavatappi was like an elevated adult Mac and cheese in the best possible way!! The banana foster tiramisu was phenomenal... And above all else, the service was fantastic and the environment was brilliant. They are all super attentive and the servers were truly excellent!!
Sorry, no pictures. Forgot about that and got right to eating my amazing meal. Got the Flank Steak. Out of sight, super tender. Prepared medium and was indeed medium. Couldn't have been any better. And the Irish potato cakes underneath, super soft and just perfect. Never a bad meal at Elysium!
We don't go to this restaurant enough. Every single thing I've had there is exceptional. Last night, my dad had the Filet Mignon and said it was the best steak he has ever had. I've never heard him say that before. Service is friendly.
Elysium is a wonderful gem of Kalamazoo! Reservation only, so plan ahead and follow their Facebook page for the most up-to-date menu and see if they have any same day reservations left. The place is small and comfortable, like eating in your friend's living room they cleared out for a party. The food is absolutely delicious and is ever changing, you'll never be bored. Definitely give it a try.
My boyfriend brought me here for our Valentine’s dinner this past year. The food was excellent! The staff was so kind, the atmosphere is very inviting! This place is also very intimate and great for date nights! We definitely will be back!
We had a wonderful meal at Elysium! The service was excellent; our server was attentative, but gave us time to enjoy our meal. We loved the halibut and salmon entrees! We definitely recommend this amazing restaurant.
