Looking for an old fashioned sub at a decent price? Look no further. We ordered 3 different subs and all were good but we didn't order their signature sub... this was a mistake and we'll be back to correct it. Nice friendly service and great value.Food: 3/5
This place has existed for as long as I have grown up in Ellsworth and WAY beyond. Probably haven't been in 30 years. Got two "large" subs to go, and like everyone else, was highly flummoxed at what they consider large. I'd hate to see the small! 3 stars go to the fact that the chicken was real and abundant, plus my sandwich was not salty at all for me, a good thing. Not sure I would return.
Large sub isn't much bigger than a hotdog bun. Don't waste your time. Miss this restaurant... extremely high prices as wellFood: 1/5
Was adequate. Had a meatball sub. The marinara sauce wasn't warm at all, the meat balls were kinda bland. The bread was nice and soft, though. Parking: Lots of parking and was plowed well.
It was a sub nothing special but pricey for what you got. This is not a good sandwich by any means I've had better at subway which says a lot. There was just meat cheese and some veggies. No mayo oil vinegar mustard etc to make it better, and it wasn't very big. Next time I'm in town I'll definitely avoid this place.
Very disappointed. Dry bread well done roast beef minimal ingredients missing two things I asked for and very expensive it's sad that you can get a better sandwich across the road at the shell station less then one star also kid wrapping up my sandwich was running cash register in between with no gloves or hand washing
Tiny sub for $11? The name of this business is very misleading since there was nothing Giant about my sub at all. What a joke! The bread was nothing special. The amount of meat and cheese was paltry. Also, who makes a sub without mayonnaise, mustard or oil and vinegar? Avoid this place! I am certain it only stays in business due to unsuspecting tourists.
I brought my parents here a few summers ago who were visiting from out of state and the subs were pretty good! Just went myself the other day and got an Italian sub the actual contents of the sub were very good but the bread was basically a large hot dog roll which kind of defeated the whole thing! Not to mention the teenage staff isn't very pleasant. Being someone that has had many customer service jobs I feel like this is an epidemic now with the younger generation. When we were trained it was "the customers r always right " placate the situation in other words kill em with kindness. I feel like u get dirty looks and bad attitude before u even order now ! I think this place could be good if there staffs attitude and the sub rolls improve!
There is nothing GIANT about this place except a rip off, avoid this place unless you wanna pay $11.00 for something you could make at home. I thought we were being punked, we kept waiting for Ashton Kutcher to come out with a camera crew. A Large SUPER sub, it wasn't even Kevin Hart sized. I have had better subs from Subway that cost 1/2 as much. I asked for a Super sub with everything on it. What I got was the most tasteless sandwich " if you could even call it an edible sandwich". Where the hell was the lettuce? No onion, no sliced tomatoes, no oregano, o&v or even salt & pepper. I watched the unfriendly kid making the sub trying to stuff the few pieces of meat into a half sliced bun. HOW TO MAKE A SUB A real sub shop, slices open the sub roll, spreads open the roll puts on the mayo..Then lays flat multiple slices of each meat not a folded slice onto the bread. Then your choice of cheese. Adds toppings like shredded lettuce, sliced onions, sliced tomatoes with salt & pepper, oregano then some oil & vinegar. That is a SUB This is Maine, so far in 3 days there has yet to be anywhere we have eaten that would survive a week in NJ or NYC.
Overpriced. Not a real sub shop, hot dog bun type stale bread, stingy ingredients, not the freshest lettuce and tomato, and a BAD attitude on the guy making sandwiches. He even heckled a couple, telling them he couldn’t hear them because they were wearing masks. I ended up throwing my sandwich away, it was so bad.
