El Molcajete

HUGE IMPROVEMENT About a year ago the food was just OK .. nothing special .. we struggle to find decent Mexican food anywhere in Dupage or Kane county so wasn’t expecting much here. The new menu and new cook NAILED IT !! The new tacos both steak and chicken are perfection and full of flavor. Great job, way to evolve!! Keep it up.

We really wanted to like this place since we live down the street. We hoped that it got better since we tried it a year ago but this time we actually walked out without even being half way done with our meal. We got two steak burritos, one Mexican style and one regular. $17 each, for something that looked more like a quesadilla. It tasted more like eating a bean burrito, very little steak. Beans and rice are not included in this price either. We definitely will not be coming back.

Unfortunately, this place gets one star. We came in on Saturday afternoon to have some tacos. They brought appetizers and never came back. Finally she shows up And we ordered 3 steak tacos, simple as that. When tacos got to us about a half hour later they were cold. They took them back to heat them. Took another 15 min finally came back but the guy decided to take the rice i was eating. I'm Mexican and this is the the worst I've had. Service and food. Unfortunately she should've told us there was an up charge of $1.50 for green salsa. Needles to say last time we come here.

First time eating here and the food and atmosphere was excellent. My wife had the fajitas and I had a Beef Burrito and both of us really enjoyed our meals. We ate on the patio overlooking 3rd Street and it was very nice.

The food was SO GOOD, I had tacos and an alcohol free margherita, all of the food was VERY FRESH and the drinks were so refreshing I wanted to cry They also have a second story outdoor seating area which is nice

Mexican is my absolute favorite cuisine and growing up close to the Mexico border, I’ve had my fair share. Since our regular favorite El Puente was closed for the holiday, we tried this place but left without ordering dinner. First off, chips and salsa are not complimentary. Not a big deal but if I have to pay for them, I am expecting more than a tablespoon of bland salsa. The chips were great but the dish of salsa was laughable. We ordered margaritas but by the time we got them 20 minutes later, they were watered down by the melted ice from sitting so long. We were really hoping to get a great molcajete- the lava bowl full of deliciousness. We thought that would be a specialty given their name but they don’t offer that here so that’s when we decided to cut our losses and try somewhere else. We ended up at Sergio’s down the street and have no regrets.

We came here on a recommendation from a friend. Loved the outdoor patio, beautiful night. Only a 30 min drive. We came for the tacos al pastor, they were very good. El Esquite was good, And the Margaritas were really good as well. Cute place, chill atmosphere

AMAZING! Love this restaurant.. food is awesome!! Great staff.. Fajitas come sizzling at your table.. Best enchiladas ever! Vegetarian options: Cheese Enchiladas.. Veggie Fajitas.. Chips.. Salsa Parking: plenty of parking on side street next to restaurant!

Great place and staff was so nice and of course food was good too, they were able to make custom vegetarian tacos for us. Highly recommended!

3 table filled. 4 waitstaff. Waited 15 minutes for service. Service forgot 1/2 the items. Was told, then went on to deliver other table. Had to reminds her again that food was missing. Finally got the items. Ordered a second beer and it never came. Did not get a itemized bill, so I asked for one. Sure enough, we were charged for the beers we never received. Food is okay, but not worth the aggravation. Parking: Street parking in Geneva...3 blocked away Dietary restrictions: Server wasn't sure about ingredients and "guessed"
