El Beso

We found this place based on Google's rating but unfortunately were not very happy with the chicken burrito and our food. The staff are super friendly and I like the vibe, but I wish the portion of the food was bigger. Basically, the main meal was more like an appetizer than a full meal. Cheers!

Black owned local Mexican restaurant. Happy hour is from 4-6 which makes it a great place to go for an affordable dinner. I had a classic margarita and tacos which were very good. The service was fantastic and the aesthetic was great. It’s located close to Rogers place and is a good spot to go before/after a concert or hockey game.

The staff were really friendly and fun. The cocktails were super yummy. But the food was a little disappointing. Ordered the Hibiscus tacos which were unpleasant. The happy hour menu is also not clear so I ordered them expecting them to be part of happy hour and they were not. They definitely are not worth $17. The guacamole was also really disappointing as it was very bland. The decor and atmosphere is really cool, so if you're just going for cocktails and this is a good place to stop

Really wanted to love this place as we live downtown and were so excited to try this new spot. But it was super disappointing. Tacos were ok. The meat was over cooked and dry. Enchilada tasted like tomato paste. Refried beans were undercooked, not at all authentic Mexican. Drinks were not bad but also nothing exceptional. The worst part? For a smaller space, please take to considering the intimacy of your dining experience. There’s no need to blast the music to the point that it seems like we’re eating at a night club. The sound caries easily through the restaurant and conversations add to the overall sound level. I almost left because it was so loud I had to yell at my date for her to hear - just unacceptable for a nicer Mexican restaurant.

Incredible tacos, they have happy hour at a really good time. The vibes are good and decor is fitting. Its a little small and cramped, but its popular for a reason. Great, friendly service.

We ordered the guacamole & chips, the guac was delicious. For our tacos we ordered the Carne Asada & Pollo en Salsa Verde. They were both tasty and filling ! The atmosphere at El Beso was very welcoming & kind, will be for sure returning :

Horchata was amazing! Margarita was good as well. Fish and Chicken Tacos were great. Staff was accommodating and able to provide a hotter salsa and it really made the meal enjoyable. Happy hour runs from 3pm-5pm, definitely will return.

Went here in a Saturday night with 5 friends. Sat down, and waitress did not come for 20 minutes. Was not that busy. After coming, she apologized and took our orders. Another 20 minutes later, still no drinks. She came back, apologized, and said we would get a round of shots on the house. Waited 10 more minutes, still no shots, no drinks, nothing. First restaurant/bar I have walked out of in 10 years. Avoid this place if you value your time, worst service I have ever received. Bar probably lost a 500$ table due to complete incompetence and lack of organization.

Quaint location with intimate layout. Our server was super friendly and knowledgeable with the menu. Our food came out quickly and was absolutely perfect. We ordered the chips & guac which was so fresh and tasty. We got the balbacoa and the pastor tacos which were unreal! The meat was so tender and together so flavorful. Their hot sauce was drool worthy! 100% will be back and definitely will recommend to everyone.

We dined here last Night for the first time and took our little girl. We had the most amazing experience! The Service and food were fantastic! The GM and owner really made us feel welcome and put so many personal touches on our experience! We will be back soon! Can’t wait to tell everyone about this Gem of a place! Thanks for having us!
