Recommend by a local friend, but we weren’t satisfied with the cook. Fermented eggs with tofu supposed be a cold dish as every Chinese would have known. It’s HOT! Not warm, but hot. And the cook came out and explained why it’s hot bcs he wanted to get rid of the bean flavour by boiling tofu. I understand that, I cook at home, too. When you heat a cold dish, the flavour get volatilize quickly and it won’t taste the same. However, couldn’t he wait till it’s cooling down before serving on the table? Right? Definitely lack of cooking experience and unprofessional.
Great location, very good lamb skewers. The starter was so huge was wonder why we ordered the main course. Price was nominal. Open till late in the evening.
I would say this is one of the best Chinese BBQ in Montreal! The service is pretty good, and the atmosphere is also nice! Definitely worth to try!
Highly recommended!!!Their service is second to none but its own food. Was totally amazed by the food quality and flavor!
Was excited to try but it was a bit disappointing. The lamb skewers were good but the reserved lamb leg wasn't the best. Both clam dishes had sand in them. Overall, did not like the experience.
Food is quite good but customer service was so-so at some point. I had to ask a couple of times to get water... One of the waiter was apparently new so a few mistakes happened during the orders. The team tried to solve these and it had been a success. What was very weird, the waiter try to negotiate us to pay two times a plate whereas we only wanted one. he gave us the wrong dish that has the same name on the menu. It was obvious to pay what we order. Sorry to say that but as a customer we shouldn’t have to pay for a waiter mistakes. I would have appreciate to have more explanation of how it’s working here mostly because it was my first time in a Mongole speciality restaurant. Maybe the managers should have coached better their new employees so the workers can be more confident. Even if there were mistakes waiters were all nice and tried to do their best to serve the meals. The place looks quite nice, well decorated, has a TV for the ones who enjoy watching sports at the same time of eating. The bathroom was smelling weird. I had doubts with the cleanliness of this washroom + soap was almost empty and it was hard to use have a good amount of soap in your hands. I would still recommend to try because the food was good. I probably had a bad luck this time. Let’s try again to confirm this review.
The food is amazing, hands down one of the best chinese BBQ place in Montreal to date. More specifically, mongolian bbq, like the ones they have in XinJiang. They don't only offer the tradition lamb skewers, but also have a variety of offcuts such as stomach and even lamb balls! Their different cuts of BBQ lambs is bar none some of the best I've had! Try their BBQ big intestine, amazingly good! They also have some typical Mongolian dish such as milk tea, but don't get confused with bubble tea as this one has bits and pieces of meat in it! Some not so good things: When they are busy, service gets slow and dishes are super slow, so be prepared to wait a bit Also, their tofu and thousand year egg is seriously lacking i ln thousand years eggs, after I talked to the server they did give us a bit more though, but apart from that, really good!
DELICIOUS!!! honestly since going here for the first time a month ago I've been back once a week, wich the affordable price makes possible! clams are amazing., chicken cartilage skewers amazing., I could keep going and just name pretty much every menu item so ill just say it's absolutely delicious.
OMG, the best BBQ in town!!! Amazing food, love the lamb kebabs, soooo delicious...definitely will be back!!!
Agree with some of the other reviews, the BBQ was quite good but service was meh~
