Tastes great! Portion is a bit small, but it's also not that expensive so I won't complain you can just order more. Everything tastes very authentic, and it's not THAT spicy as you would imagine from looking at it, so feel free to try it!
Delicious food as always and for sure best customer service. We ordered food to pick up and due to rush dinner time during pandemic, we had to wait almost 1h. The resto tried their best to make it faster for us and even said sorry and offered 10% discount. A real hidden gem in Montreal!!!
Went to this restaurant so much pre pandemic, then ordered take out during it. Great if your craving spicy Chinese food! Portions are bigger when you dine in rather than take out!
Highly recommend you try their "chief recommended dishes", they are out of this world! The other dishes left us wanting more. But the service was amazing! Everyone was kind and helpful. Will come back here when I'm back in Montreal!
Whenever I'm in town and in the mood for some spicy Chinese food, I come to this place. The spiciness is toned down a bit to suit the taste of food loving locals but the dishes are truly authentic from a Chef who came from Szechuan.
We were disappointed at first by the portion of the general Tao. The picture shows what was left after we ate 2 chickens. The WORST part about this general Tao is that they used chicken that had gone bad. It clearly tasted like it was spoiled like fermented tofu and was slimy so the batter was falling from the chicken. That’s why there’s half a chicken left in the picture, because I couldn’t finish it. It’s unacceptable to serve this kind of food. I will never return here!! Plus the price isn’t even that good compared with their portions. EDIT: they did refund me for the spoiled general tao
Delicious dishes and very spicy. We got there for lunch, and they cooked very fast and the waitermay be is bossis nice. Only some dishes is too much salting.
Quality is good, quantity isn’t. I’ve never seen so little chicken in a General Tao Chicken ever. 370 grams including the box is about half of what you usually get from any other places. And I reconfirmed with them that this is the correct amount they offer for a 13 dollar dish.
I used to go to Cuisine Szechuan all the time pre-2016. It was the best Szechuan I'd had in Montreal and recommended it to people all the time. So good. I moved far away, came back a couple of years ago, and just re-tried it for the second time. First time was earlier in the pandemic for takeout - seemed greasier and less good than it used to but it was also best eaten in person so I gave it a go the other day. I didn't know that the ownership had changed but it was obvious. The waitress was friendly and I have no complaints about the service or speed but she did not seem to know what the items on the menu were. She asked someone from the kitchen a question I had about a dish and he also didn't seem to really know what I was looking for a dish we had repeatedly ordered there in the past and the dish they gave me was not at all what it used to be. Nothing tasted like it had much Szechuan flavour anymore and was much more bland. The green beans with pickled veg for example - still well cooked and somewhat tasty but lacked spice and I couldn't taste much if any Szechuan pickled vegetable. The shredded potato dish which used to be served as a small cold dish with vinegar and Szechuan red peppers has become an enormous pile of oily shredded potato with no discernible vinegar or spice, dumped on a plate. The braised eggplant and tofu was not the yu xiang eggplant I asked for and had a less spiced non-sweet sauce was fairly decent. Sadly I will probably not go back again, not because the food was terrible or anything but it did not at all taste like Szechuan-style food as it used to.
I like such places. Not too official with friendly Staff and good chinese, sechuan hot food. Portions big enough. Nice athmosphere.
