Nice little park. The trail marking and some of the trails could use some love and update but, it's small enough you won't get lost. The trails go through many different kinds of landscape and forest. Be sure to pay the nominal usage fee so that they can continue to improve.
Nice campground, very organized. Great view of the Muskegon river. Be careful with which site you book if you have kids- many tent sites are along the edge of a steep drop-off and it can be hard to see it at night. You also have to buy a county pass for $7/day. Restrooms: Clean enough Picnic area: Great picnic spots
May 28, 2021. Check in was smooth, sucks you must buy a County Park Pass to camp. We used sites 7 and 8, friends had the Heron Cabin. 7 starts out sunny in the morning then shade, 8 and 9 stay mostly sunny. 2 stall bathrooms are decent, 4 individual shower rooms with lukewarm water, good pressure. Pickleball courts are being worked on, no nets. Several water sources in the campground to get water, overall, a nice campground close to the Manistee River. Cell service was great using Sprint/T-Mobile
Clean, well maintained and managed. Sites are very large. No dogs continuously barking so it was very quiet and relaxing and local police made several visits and drive around the campground during the weekend. Look forward to our next stay in august
We love this campground so much and make it our stay every summer! It has frisby golf, swimming hole, river access, and our favorite is the primitive group campsite by the river. Makes a perfect spot when we finish our tubing trip down the river and stumble over.
They have new attractions, coming this next summer baseball diamond on the other side of the park. And I'm guessing the pond fills back over the winter.
Do not go here for tubing. Park at your own risk, the lot by the baseball diamond does not have any signs about needing a park pass. You have to go 100yds down the road to see the signs. But you will still get a ticket if you don’t have a county pass.
Very beautiful, well kept camp ground. Offers Muskegon River boat launch access, a very nice disc golf course, new tennis courts, softball fields, playground, and many beautiful picnic areas. Campsites and cabins are very well maintained! Definitely a great place to camp!
Clean bathroom an shower. Staff was non evasive. Decent size sites an shade. Would stay again
Great experience. Our company rented 6 or 7 adjacent lots. Clean, fairly flat.. Relaxed place. We like to stay up a little later and have drinks. Nobody bothered us even once it got well past midnight. It also has it's own boat ramp off the river so if you plan on tubing the river it's a perfect spot to get out. Only about 5 min of tubing away Wissners.
