You get what you pay for I suppose.. this was one of the cheaper hotel options which is why we picked it. Room and bathroom was clean, some stains on bedding linens but nothing terrible. Didn’t get the best sleep..bed is quite hard in comparison to other hotel beds I’ve had. Could hear hotel phone ringing from our room upstairs, could hear doors slamming all night from other guests coming and going, ac was ac was a little wonky, one side of the bed had a permanent indentation that caused me to roll into it while sleeping. So I had to sleep in the middle of the bed. However, check in / checkout was easy, nice location. And our encounters with the workers were fine!
Budget hotel. Room was clean but had an odd smell when we arrived. Window could be opened so that helped. Beds were very firm. Hard. Pillows were pitiful, flat and hard. Three pillows on each double bed. Overall atmosphere is dated, tired, worn. I think some of the rooms closer to the lake may have been renovated more recently.nnIn room fridge and microwave, single serve coffee maker and ice bucket. We didn’t use the TV but I’m sure it was fine.nnShower was clean. Decent water pressure. Towels are thin and limp. Time to replace them.nnBreakfast was more than adequate. There were two kinds of Jimmy Dean breakfast sandwiches available, ready for microwaving. Bagels, toast, packaged Hostess Danish, yogurt, dry cereal three kinds, milk, juice, coffee, instant oatmeal packets — there were plenty of options. Breakfast is available 6 am to 9 am we were there on weekdays so not sure if weekend hours are different.nnBe aware there is no elevator. I’m waiting for knee surgery so have difficulty with stairs. We asked upon arrival when we realized there was not an elevator about a ground floor room. The parking lot was never full during our time there. The only “solution” offered was a room that would have cost over $20 more per night. I struggled up and down the stairs rather than pay the extra.nnAnother thing to be aware of is there are a couple of extremely loud trains that go through each night. Not the fault of the hotel but just know this fact when choosing your hotel location.nnOur room was on the side closest to the highway that goes north/south through the town. It was very loud at all times of the day and night. Something else to think about when making a reservation.nnAs we were leaving I told the woman at the desk that the railing on the stairway was loose. She didn’t acknowledge my comment at all.
The Econo Lodge on the Bay in Menominee, MI was clean and comfortable. For an affordable stay, it was extremely nice. Staff were responsive and helpful. The morning breakfast was an added bonus, and the coffee was delicious! We will be coming back.
Clean comfortable room wonderful location. only two issues: shower head had a leak and sprayed water on shower ceiling causing cold drips during the nice hot shower and the toilets were built for a preschool classroom not suitable for full sized adults
The breakfast bar is nothing to write home about they're just sandwiches you heat up from Jimmy Dean's breakfast sandwiches and your basic cereal oatmeal coffee and juice the rooms were nice and clean the pillows were terrible the staff was okay location is beautiful does watch out when you go by the water a lot of people don't clean up after their pets in the area. The pillows are hard and thin. Also, even if the hotel not busy, they try and up charge you for a view
