Econo Lodge

Hotel needs elevators to the second floor. Stairs way to steep and narrow for easy luggage movement. Breakfast area is very cramped and no tables. Staff very efficient and courteous. Room clean and comfortable with the exception of a small shower stall. Cable TV station choice was above average. Overall stay, minus the stairs issue was positive.

Booked the room for 1 night. Upon arrival we found the woman at the desk unfriendly. That evening I asked for 2 more towels and 2 pillows. Before I was handed 1 of each instead of the 2 that I had requested I was questioned who I was, room number, name the reservation was under and then I was made to wait while the man pulled everything up on the computer. The following morning when I went to check out and get a receipt, I was told to leave by that same man. The room was dated, smelled musty and the bed was beyond uncomfortable. The tub did not drain well and towels were very small. The refrigerator did not get cold enough to keep anything at all. Inexpensive compared to other hotels in the TC area, but you get what you pay for as far as accommodations, service, courteous treatment and respect. I felt very demeaned by every interaction with the people at the front desk. We won't be back!!!

This is an older hotel, but well maintained and clean. It's not fancy, but reasonably priced. Rooms use all the basics including refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker and plenty of electrical outlets.

After reading some previous reviews, I decided to give this place a shot. Had plans in Traverse City which was pretty much booked up and a lot more expensive. This place was clean, comfortable, and affordable. About a half hour drive from TC on the way to and from I75. Exactly what I was looking for. Would definitely stay again.

It's a nice little hotel in Kalkaska. Rooms are nice and not too cramped, but the continental breakfast was lacking in variety. It's nice that it is available though.
