East Side Mario's

It's been year's since I've eaten at E-S Mario's. My family and I used to go to a northern location almost weekly for a meal when my daughter was very young during the mid 2000 to 2010. The spaghetti and meatballs are still good and the salad fresh and tasty. But one thing is different. I recall that back in the day, garlic butter was served with a fresh hot baked steaming loaf of bread. Not so here, cold loaf of bread and margarine. Not even tasty. Other than that, it was just fine.

We've been coming here for years and it was good to be back! ESM has the same format as Olive Garden with your main dish including unlimited soup or salad and bread. The bread is always delicious and super warm which is nice. They're definitely trying to save a bit by giving you one bread at a time despite being 2 at the table. To save some time just ask for a few when ordering. We both had the Italian wedding soup which was delicious. For the mains we had the pepper and sausage penne which is actually spicy which is great. The sauce tasted really good and the portion was quite big. The other main we had was the tilapia which was ok. It was dry but the sauce that came with it was good. Wouldn't order that again but overall it was good. The only downside with ESM is the service can be quite slow. The staff and the owners have always been amazing and super friendly so if the place is super busy just be patient!

I have been to East Side Mario's multiple times and have always had a great experience. The food is delicious and the waitstaff are always friendly and attentive. I would definitely recommend it for a casual dinner out with friends or family. The only downside is that it can get quite busy on weekends, so if you're looking for a more relaxed atmosphere, I'd suggest going during the week instead. - Amber

Cant say ENOUGH about how perfect everything was here. I called to order take out to celebrate my sons Employee of the month..supper... Its been forever since we even seen An East Side Marios.. YOU did not dissapoint! AMAZING FOOD.. the CHEESE CAKE.. Omg... Service 100% efficiency 100% Food 100% nothing forgot in the bag.. portions 100% Well worth the drive and the money.. Thankyou! Thankyou for being Awesome. I appreciate you! Im A server and Im picky..you guys Nailed it.. keep on doing whaf your doing.

This is our first choice for a restaurant in St. Albert! Salads, pasta, soup, pizza and dessert are all excellent. A shout out to our server Tarin who was friendly and attentive throughout our dinner. Highly recommend

Wife and I came for dinner on the weekend. We had the lasagna and chicken parmesan. Both were delicious! Good sized portions and I couldn't get enough of the complimentary bread!Food: 5/5

My man and I took the family here for a late lunch, and the service was phenomenal! The staff were very polite, and we had the pleasure of being served by the owner!! All the food was mostly devoured, the kids even loved their meals. I am absolutely impressed by this establishment, I would 100% recommend to anyone that loves a good meal out of the house. I like going somewhere to eat where I feel good about tipping my server.

They have same with olive garden with unlimited bread which my children love it we love our pasta that we order but seems some body in the kitchen didn’t pay attention to the grill there some burn part of my chicken

Very happy they were able to accommodate our group of 8 on Easter weekend. The service from Annie was hands down the best service we all have had in a long time. The food was reasonably priced and came out from the kitchen fast for how busy it was. Thanks again Annie for making the visit great. Kid-friendliness: Kid friendly

I could not be more disappointed. Tried to get a table for a party of 22. I knew this location did not take reservations but I had called ahead and was told that if I arrived 30-60mins earlier than we would most likely be accommodated. Unfortunately, we walk in ahead of time and ask for a table for our group. We let them know that it is for 5pm so they are not caught off guard. They agree and set up the table as the restaurant was not busy at that time. As myself and my mom are about to sit, the manager asks us when our group will arrive and I say 5pm. She then says, “she cannot save the table for that long.” Not only was her demeanour dismissive, but mocked me when I said that the man on the phone said we should arrive 30-60 minutes earlier to ensure ample time to wait. Suffice to say, I was extremely unimpressed and said we will go elsewhere. I give one star because I loved East Side Mario’s, their food, and atmosphere, but I cannot fathom how a manager would decline a large group of mostly adults in the hopes that she would “be able to fill the tables in the mean time. The manager’s lack of hospitality was atrocious, yet her hostess was far more professional and tried to accommodate us. Please do better in the future.
