My bf was in Red Deer for a business meeting and I came alongs for fun. After the meeting, we were hungry, and since we had such a great time at one of Calgary locations, we decided to come to Earl's in Red Deer.nReasons I leave 3 stars:n1. It was so cold in the restaurant, couldn't get comfortable. Brr n2. The coconut mango cooler zero proof was so sour, yuck. My bf and I had those in Calgary and it was so yummy sweet and sour. In red deer location, pure lemon and I couldn't taste anything else. I wanted to send it back, but it was my bf who ordered it and he didn't want to make a fuss about it. So I left it alone. But yuck n3. Food was a mix of great, to meh. We got roast beef sliders 5/5, definitely recommend. Aburi salmon sushi press 5/5. Margherita pizza 2/5, and tuna taco 3/5.nService was lovely. 5/5. Sweet girl. Forgot her name, tall blonde, used to live in Calgary. Very friendly. Hostess was super friendly too. Also blonde and tall, with cute hair.nSo the only 2 things I didn't not like, even a tiny bit, was a crappy sour drink and the freezing temperature. My bf and I go to red deer once every 2 weeks and wanted to find a spot to grab lunch, but doubt we are coming back for those reasons. I can not relax and enjoy my meal, when I'm shivering and don't feel like wearing my jacket inside, like other customers were doing. I'm disappointed, especially, since earls in Calgary hit it out of the park for us and now one of our favorite spots for date nights. I guess, I thought, it's the same quality in all earls restaurants, but I learned my lesson. If you decide to go there, dress warm.
A Standout Experience in Red DeernMy colleague and I stopped by Earl’s in Red Deer for a well-deserved dinner after work, and the experience met my expectations. I began with the seafood chowder soup—rich, creamy, and perfectly seasoned. It arrived at the ideal temperature, and the portion was generous to set a satisfying tone for the meal.nnFor shareables, we chose the calamari and spinach dip, which did not disappoint. The calamari was well-prepared, and the spinach dip paired beautifully with crunchy crostini—each bite was packed with flavor and texture.nnThe highlight of the evening was the steaks. Cooked to perfection, as requested, the steaks were hearty, well-seasoned, and served in good portions. The blue cheese crumbles were a perfect match to my medium steak. To cap it all off, the management’s gesture of a complimentary dessert was a thoughtful touch.nnI have tried Earls Kitchen in many locations and provinces, this Red Deer location truly stands out—consistent quality, attentive service, and a memorable experience. I’ll definitely be back.
I have heard so many good reviews about this place but nothing could have prepared me for the five star experience I just had at Earls this evening.nnDecor: 5/5. I loved everything from the floor to the ceiling. The colour combinations wowed me and have inspired me on decor ideas for my own home. I was blown away. It was so appealing. Have you seen those AI photos for decor going around that can’t possibly be emulated? Well, Earls made it happen. It didn’t feel real, let alone a restaurant in Red Deer.nnService: 5/5. We were seated very quickly, in a seat with a great view of their outdoor patio which was also decorated excellently. We were served by Dakota, who was everything you could ever ask for in a server. Friendly, personable, efficient, available, attentive. English is my first language and even I am not able to convey into words how excellent she was. Our table barely ever had an empty dish. She was dressed very well, her hair was perfect, her makeup was perfect, and she was friendly to boot. If they wrote a manual for how to be the best waitress ever, she’d be the author. I’d pay to attend her Ted talk. Even with the high praise here, I am still under selling it.nnAmbience: 5/5. You could barely hear other tables. Sometimes I get overwhelmed in loud environments and for me the volume from the other tables was minimal. The restaurant is huge, the parking lot was almost full, there was hardly an empty table, there were lots of people, and yet it didn’t feel like it, and it didn’t sound like it.nDrinks: I got a coconut mango margarita and it was divine. The flavours were on point. The drink came with blue salt on the rim, which I thought was just such a cool way to add a little flair. My friend got a Cesar which she thoroughly enjoyed. We normally only get one drink, but we just had to have another.nFood: 5/5. I got probably the most expensive item on the menu, which was the strip loin surf and turf. I added truffle butter because why not? I had a gift card so I went a little crazy. I asked for my steak to be rare, and for the first time in my whole life, it was actually rare. I couldn’t have made it better myself. Have you ever seen the food replicator in Star Trek? My plate of food was so perfect I think a robot must have cooked it. There’s just no way a human did this. I was physically delighted when I cut into my steak. It came with mashed potatoes and asparagus. The potatoes had SHREDDED POTATOES on top that were fried and crispy. I had to ask what it was because I will never have mashed potatoes without them again. If they said “we are only paying you in mashed potatoes instead of money,” I’d actually accept the job and work there. The prawns were also cooked to perfection, and had their tails removed already which is rare for me. My friend got fettuccine Alfredo with Cajun chicken. Shes usually a slow eater but she practically scarfed this down. When I asked her in between bites how her food was, she told me it was perfection. She said she usually like her Cajun chicken pretty spicy, but she said she wouldn’t change a single thing with this dish. Her and I frequently go out for dinner and I have never once heard her say this.nnI am still shocked that this restaurant is in Red Deer. Earls absolutely exceeded my expectations, which were already high given the reviews I’ve heard from other people. I haven’t even been home for fifteen minutes, I just HAD to tell people: if you haven’t gone, what are you waiting for?
Took my wife here for her birthday dinner. Food was tasty, however our meals came to the table warm not hot. This was disappointing as a $40 steak dinners should be served hot. Complained to our server, and she did not take any money off the bill, but gave us two cards for free appies the next time around. After dinner I kept looking at the kitchen where the outgoing meals were placed awaiting pickup to be bought to the tables. Lots of meals sat there 5-10 minutes before being served. There is definitely room for improvement here. Your Restaurant comes across as a high restaurant with high prices, Do better, serve hot meals!
Stopped in for dinner on a Friday night. There was a slight wait but then we were whisked to our table. The service as usual was good. The dynamite rolls were a fabulous start to the meal and we ended with fabulous desserts. I love the consistency of our visits and will be back again soon.
