Duncan's Pub

We stopped here once on our way through Amherst and decided to eat here. The place was very cosy and not very busy at the time, so our order was served promptly. The food was well prepared as expected of pub food, and portions quite good. The staff were charming and friendly, and made sure our whims and wishes were met, then left us alone to enjoy our meal, of which we did. Definitely need to come back here to sample some more food in the near future.

Very friendly staff and nice location. Chairs are very comfortable. The reason for the 3 stars: way too many flies in the dining room, landing on the food, and our nachos came with cheese that was not melted (I know...its a first world problem). Nice to see Heineken beer on tap :).

Good food, pretty reasonable in prices. Seafood is the best choice while you're here. The chowder is creamy and the seafood in it is good but it tends to be more cream than actual meat or potatoes most of the time. It's very hit or miss on all the items, but when it's good it's amazing.

Had the fish and chips and was very happy. The portion of fish was great and very filling. The fries were great too. Service was a bit slow and they seemed to be a bit short staffed but the servers were really doing their best. Would recommend a visit, but I'm gonna give their home brewed lager a pass

Pleasant place. Just had a quick meal and drink, so I can't really rate it properly. I'll give it a 4. Took one off because we didn't see a notice that there was live entertainment, which makes conversation difficult. Fortunately we were almost done by the time it started.
