Feeling a nosh and came for the weekday 5-7 happy hour and left with a happy stomach. Ordered a few finger food and drink of the week which is a tasty and sweet bourbon cocktail called Sugar Moon. $1.5 oyster is fresh and tasty. Grandma’s hush puppies were crispy outside, fluffy inside and filling. The dining room was a little dark inside but its happening.
Due West is my absolute favorite neighborhood spot! The cocktails are amazing, the music sets great vibes, the people are always attractive & fun and the service is reliably excellent! They have indoor and outdoor tables, TVs for sports games and a dance floor that pops off at night. Highly recommend!
Tried out the happy hour here. Busy spot on 10th St in the WV, open front. Friendly service. Wine, $7, for basically a stingy pour equal to about half a glass. The HH cocktail was $12, decent but not much of a HH discount. We had oysters, fried chicken slider, hush puppies, and mini lobster roll. Oysters were pretty good at $1.50/ea. Fried chicken slider, tasty for $4. Hush puppies, decent and filling for $8. The disappointment was the lobster roll, $5 for barely a bite of lobster meat.
Being checked for enterance when you are 10-15 years older than 21 makes you feel young! Friendly service but being forced to get up even your glass is half full. Free Wi-Fi. Not so clean restrooms cant say dirty. Food is delicious but plates are not big, an hungry man cant full it up. Fair prices comparing the neighbour. Free water but bottle was taken half-full with finished meal. 5-7 weekdays are HH but not various. Not regretful at all, enjoy!
This was the worst experience in my life. My friend and I were seated at the table, after ordering a few drinks and appetisers the server kept asking if we don’t want to order more drinks. we said we already had two drinks each and not playing to have more than that. After what they gave us a check and said we need to leave or keep ordering more drinks. I politely explain that we will leave when we’re done with our food and drinks. The server was nice and apologetic about the situation but he explained that was his manager’s rules and it would be better if we leave. I asked to talk to the manager and was trying to be polite and nice saying we’ll leave but we want to finish the drinks we payed for. After what the manager came over and treated us to call the police if we don’t leave. I said please call the police we’ll be more than happy to chat with them but we also didn’t want to ruin our night so we left. The picture shows the manager calling the police.
Came here for a couple drinks before dinner - cocktails were good and they have a reasonable happy hour during the work week. Service at the table and bar were very friendly! They have espresso martini on tap - fascinating. Vibe seemed fine early in the night, not too crowded at all.
Enjoyed a wonderful brunch there yesterday! 3 of my friends and I ordered a few of the different dishes and they were all wonderful. The crab dip was so good. A dozen of the oysters and chicken and waffles was amazing. It wasn't one of the coldest days in NYC so we had a hotty toddy and tried the buttered rum both hot drinks wow wow wow. Ended the day with a Expresso Martini and it was a perfect ending! Great service and delicious food. Definitely a great choice to have a perfect dining experience.
My home doesn’t have white tile, dome lights, or three tv’s, but my other home does. Due west is a west village beacon. Yes, it’s got football playing, but it managed to evade the typical sports bar atmosphere. The energy is high but well contained, like a hot air balloon. The drinks are well crafted and STRONG! You get more than your moneys worth. But mostly, the staff is this bar’s crowning jewel. Never have I found a place with such kind, encouraging, and fair employees. They are worth more than most townhouses in this neighborhood, and that’s saying something.
What a delicious brunch, such a cute ambiance and the service was unbeatable.
Due West at brunch is a restaurant with an identity crisis. Hip interior and staff make day time visits feel out of place. I'm sure this place is packed at night. The food is rich and large portioned. The fried chicken bites are a creative and light attempt at a reinterpretation of a bar favorite, but the treatment would have suited shrimp better or maybe just more expectedly. The shoestring fries were the best bite and worth an order. The burger is huge and satisfying. The fancy bacon egg and cheese sandwich on brioche was a bit too fancy. The cooked onions made it unwieldy and too much like a burger instead of the NY classic. Great secret brunch spot to watch sports on a Sunday though with TVs on silent and hearty dishes.
