We saw a line up right beside Fairmont Bagel and ended up trying it out... What an amazing find it was!! This cute little restaurant almost a size of a lemonade stand serves the most delicious gnocchi with their homemade tomato sauce. Only three things in the menu to pick from but I went for the extra cheese and spicy. Portion size is huge and with tax I paid only around $6.
This is the most unassuming place. If it wasn't for the line up, which moves fast you'd probably walk right by without giving it a second thought. DON'T walk away, wait in line because this is one of the best meal deals around. $5 for a box of fluffy smooth gnocchi with an incredible sauce. You will not be disappointed.
For 5 dollars, you get a good potion of gnocchi that's made fresh and super soft almost pasty . But I did not like the tomato sauce that comes with it, I found it to be very bitter and acidic. Some cream cheese would have definitely helped. In terms of spiciness, I would have preferred it to be spicier but I did order the spicy version.
If there’s a better $5 deal in Montreal please tell me because this place wins first place in the best value in my mind by a landslide no doubt. There is usually a steady line up and for good reason because for $5 tax in you can’t beat this place. The Gnocchi is creamy and hearty and the sauce is great too. With some Parmesan cheese and pepper flakes if you like it spicy that little container is a good time. You might’ve had better Gnocchi elsewhere but for a homemade $5 treat this can’t be beat. We paid $1 for an extra scoop of Parmesan to make it extra cheesy and added hot pepper flakes as well but I suggest you go light on those to not overpower the flavour. Don’t forget to leave a little tip for your server because with a Deal like that it’s only fair, enjoy
$5 gnocchi with incredible sauce so hot not spicy just hot…it is hard to wait to eat, right off the stove!!! For a $1 more fresh cheese… In a cute to go container and on a slightly rainy day hard to wait! We had umbrellas so we sat for a moment + ate on the colorful/rainbow metal benches just beside the takeout window. There was a bit of construction going on this week…not so romantic unless you are looking to fall in love with a single Montreal construction worker? Perhaps take him/her a container of gnocchi on a cold day or just to say thank you for working on a miserable day? We took an extra container home to my 80 year old mom who did not want to venture out this afternoon and she had it for breakfast the next morning!!! One note, parking is a bit tricky so watch the signs. We did find some a few streets away. Go, enjoy the heck out of it, we did!
If you like gnocchi, you're in for a treat! Dee-liciously homemade and so Italian. It's a takeaway shopin a cute corner at Fairmount known by their homemade tomato sauce! This is a great place to eat with great food, generous portions at a reasonable price. Customer service is very good with a smiley helpful and friendly stuff. Vegetarian options: Gnocchis
You can't be in Montreal and not taste the best gnocchis in town. Be prepared to wait in a long line, but it's really worth it. The portions are a bit smaller from 2 years ago inflation? but the price remained the same from 5$ for the basic to 6.5$ from spicy extra cheese
Great place for gnocchi! It is all they sell too. $5 for a carton full of gnocchi with a tasty vodka sauce is an incredible meal. If you like gnocchi and want a quick bite, you won't regret it!
The gnocchi was so fresh and prepared very quickly as well. Definitely big portions, as you get a whole carton of gnocchi for just $5! We came back a second time the next day :
$5 homemade gnocchi to go… need I say more? Perfect lunch or snack spot - must eat in the city! So fresh and delicious! Right next to Fairmount bagel as well.
