Story

The Dream Away Lodge has been a Berkshire legend for more than 90 years. Rumored to have been a brothel and speakeasy during the great depression, this two hundred year old farmhouse at the edge of October Mountain State Forest is renown for its larger than life founders, Mamma Maria Frasca and her three musical daughters, and a colorful history, rich in music and local mythology.

I went here years ago, and I also remember it as a Magical place with incredible energy. It's funny reading the negative reviews I can tell I wouldn't want to serve those people. When you work in the restaurant industry for years you know the customer is not always right. The establishment is providing open doors to an incredible experience and excellent food. Don't be ungrateful, and entitled.

We found Dream Away to be a bad dream that we will stay away from in the future. Yes, the atmosphere is funky and cool, but the service was the slowest I've ever experienced. It was not even crowded when we arrived but it took 30 minutes to get a drink. We waited 15 minutes for the waitress to come over to us, and another 15 minutes to actually get our drinks. She never even came back to get our 2nd round! Fortunately someone else did that for us. The Short ribs were not short ribs. $25 for what looked more like an appetizer ...4 skinny strips of beef, over marinated cucumbers and a scoop of rice. My stomach is flip flopping this morning! Go Away Dream Away, go far, far away!

Great eats, in a chill environment. Was introduced to the Dreamaway about six years ago, and make it a point to take friends whenever I have the chance. Staff was laid back but professional. Loved the fire pits and the ability to gather friends around for late night gatherings. Only thing was, I couldn't stay inside too long because of allergies to cats. Otherwise, great time had all around by our group.

An incredible restaurant, music and event venue in an incredible rustic and undisturbed setting. Just can describe it as a very special place!

Plus: cool atmosphere and regular live music that is actually good. Unique and fresh dishes. Nice dog. Free coffee. Minus: small portions and servers don't know what is going on.
