I always have a great experience during every visit. Dr.Cruz is amazing and team is always so welcoming and they have the best energy. Rosa and May are always so helpful. The hygienists and assistants are always so nice and fun to talk to. I 100% recommend going to Dr.Yolanda Cruz!!
I had a wonderful experience with Dr Cruz. She is a dentist that specializes in TMJ and over the past 7 months she has cured me of trigemenal neuralgia intense facial pain with her simple treatment. She thoroughly explained the process and was very confident that she could help me. They took photos on each visit and the changes in my face and posture over the past 7 months are quite striking and remarkable. The photos reflect the cure. Dr. Cruz is a fabulous dentist and a true healer! She listened intently to my concerns and she is a genuinely caring and compassionate person. The entire team at Doctor Cruz’s office are highly professional, knowledgeable, lovely, warm and fun. I would give them 10 stars if I could!
Called in to ask how much they charge for a consult, and how long the Dr. Yolanda Cruz has been doing the pinhole technique. Two very simple and straight forward questions for a first time patient. The receptionist, name was May, couldn't answer, or refused to answer these 2 questions. Instead, she tried to get my information and book me in for a consult, and told me I would have to go through the consult first. She would not give me any information over the phone. Complete money grab and extremely poor business practice. On top of that she was extremely rude and unprofessional. I am doing my due diligence and research before getting this surgery done, I have called about 8 other practices and this information is readily available at the first ask. Business tip for the owner - your receptionist is the face of your company, they represent your brand and are responsible for bringing people through the front door. Perhaps you need to have a coaching session with her because my experience was very negative.
I’ve been going to Dr. Cruz’s office since I was a child, whenever people would talk about hating the dentist because of the pain and needles I never joined into the conversation negatively because I’ve had none of those negative experiences others have had. This just shows you the time and dedication the office has for your well being. Whenever I come in I’m always greeted with absolute beautiful souls who love each and every person as their own. It really feels like a family there. All the staff and all the dentist are extremely knowledgeable with any concern I have and always check to make sure I’m comfortable. Yes this may be my first review and I guess people will think it’s fake but I just am not a person to write google reviews because I usually don’t have that much time and I would want to make it meaningful but this office has just been a part of my healthy life for so long I believe they should get the recognition they deserve. I’ll see some of these negative reviews as well and it truly pains me to read them since it seems that people have such a misunderstanding with the office. It may be a miscommunication but I can assure anybody who is reading this that this will be the most pleasant dental experience anyone will ever have and you’ll find out something new about yourself that goes beyond dentistry. As soon as you walk in you will for sure be greeted with a nice great HELLOOOOO with a smile behind the mask which you can tell through their eyes. No matter what business I enter I have never been greeted with so much love other than this office it actually baffles me how these people have so much energy. I recommend this office to everybody I know even if they are having a down day because just that much excitement in an office literally brings up your mood. I’ve recently undergone the TMJ treatment which was recommended by Dr. Cruz because I’ve been having sleeping problems and bad posture. After just a few weeks of wearing my appliance I have not been constantly waking up through the night and I notice I walk with more authority pretty important for my position at work and with my chin up rather than slouching. I work in the film industry and I have to spend a lot of time in front of a screen as well as sitting which unfortunately I’ve noticed that my body has molded to my slouch when doing so. But after just a few months and with the progress tracking the office does it’s like a mini photoshoot when I go in so I feel like a star in front of the camera instead of being behind the camera for once and usually I feel uncomfortable in front of the camera but the assistants are clear and concise with what they need. It has shown me over time the actual improvements and I’ve noticed the improvements in my day to day life. It was like I almost had a continuous haze over my eyes because I just was not sleeping which obviously affects you tremendously. In pure quality of life this office has benefitted me in more ways than I can even express gratitude for. . These women and men have been through my dental journey my whole life and I honestly could not see myself going any where else. Even when I’m traveling I make sure to come back to either the downtown location or Etobicoke location since they ABSOLUTELY have my loyalty as a patient. If you’ve made it this far I am impressed but this has been so long because this office truly means so much to me and I think everything I’ve said needs to be heard since this place definitely does not deserve any negative reviews. If I could rate 7 stars I would. Google get on that please. I personally suggest if you are thinking of finding a dental offices that looks past what you just need done and will go beyond to make sure your quality of life is at its optimum, I with absolute confidence recommend this dental office or her office downtown.
Loved coming to this dentist but unfortunately they've become very sloppy. They were late getting me into my cleaning appointment today. My hygienists definitely had not showered prior to coming into work. Customers were yelling in the hallways and had other hygienists busting into the room multiple times as I was getting a cleaning done. I also had to pay out of pocket for their miscalculation even though I have benefits. Very disappointed
My entire family have been consistently receiving top dental care from this clinic, from the staff to Dr.Yolanda Cruz herself for 27 years . We are blessed to be their patients.
Dr. Yolanda Cruz is an amazing and a wonderful, compassionate dentist. She uses advanced dental technology in her clinic, which produces the very best results. All the staff are very friendly and helpful. The location is conveniently located, with free underground parking! Update: August 2020 They follow a strict protocol for COVD-19 prevention.
I came here for a one time cleaning because of convenience and after such a wonderful experience I decided to transfer permanently! Every single person in this office is so lovely and they really go above and beyond to give the best treatment possible. Can’t recommend enough :
After not visiting the dentist throughout the pandemic, I booked with Dr. Cruz for a cleaning and to address the tooth sensitivity I've been facing for years. I was persuaded by the amount of five-star reviews. In the past few weeks, I've gone in for one comprehensive exam, two deep cleanings with fillings, and one additional session with just filling. My experience has been mixed. THE GOOD: - Dr. Cruz and her team have been very flexible and accommodating. I accidentally showed up at the wrong location. The hygienist Dahlia and Dr. Cruz stayed late and wrapped up my exam past their closing time. - Jiwon is an incredible dental hygienist. She is understanding, kind and does a fantastic job. She's informative, letting me know exactly what's happening, and checks in before and while doing anything. I can't recommend her enough. - The admin ladies at the front desk are amazing. One in particular, whose name I unfortunately did not get, is absolutely exemplary—took the time to correct a miscommunication I thought I was going in for a consultation, she thought I was committing to a treatment which would require another, different $400 exam. She could easily have ignored my frustration and cited policy, but she was empathetic and took the time to understand the situation. Outstanding customer service. - The health protocols are thorough. I've been to doctors' offices and labs that aren't as rigorous in their procedures. THE BAD: - I have anxiety when it comes to dentistry due to experiences in my past. Anesthetic takes a long time to kick in for me, and either doesn't work or fades fairly quickly unless the dose is large. My teeth are also incredibly sensitive. I've twice been told something might not hurt or that I am indeed numb only to experience pain during the fillings. The first time, fine, it's a learning experience, I get it. But the second time I had to take a few seconds to recover. I was given the impression that my reaction to this pain was dramatic and overwrought. I was instructed to "Breathe" and calm down. - I was told during one of the appointments that to be less anxious about the pain because it will make things worse. My anxiety is mine to manage but my issue isn't with anxiety, it is with pain. Regardless of my level of anxiety, I don't want to experience pain during treatment. I didn't find this advice to be particularly helpful and it did not make me feel good about my treatment. - At times, I felt talked down to by having simple concepts explained to me multiple times, or like my questions weren't being heard or understood, or like the dentist was frustrated with my asking. Eventually, after a few clarifications, I did achieve some understanding but I was taken aback at the disconnect. - I have also gotten conflicting sets of information across multiple visits, including with which fillings were priority, which were observe only, and which fillings were happening when. There're more I could say but can't due to word count limits. I would encourage taking patients seriously when it comes to their assessment of their pain tolerance, their reactions to anesthetic and what's happening in their own bodies during treatment. I would also say the communication aspect needs some work. It does not make me feel like an equal participant in my own care to be spoken down to, given conflicting information and invited to consult on treatment options only to be surprised with "We don't do consultations so you'll need to pay $400 for an exam." Despite the negative experiences, I will continue to go to Dr. Cruz for now, because the location is convenient, the team is great and I do feel the work is of high quality. But I will be continuing to evaluate the relationship over the next few appointments to see if this is a feasible long-term provider for me.
Dr Cruz and her entire team are absolutely incredible! Everyone at the office is happy and energetic, and enthusiastic love what they do passionately. Patient care is the priority with Dr Cruz, and I will recommend her to anyone!
