If you earn minimum wage and do not have a benefit plan here are some things you should know BEFORE you have your teeth cleaned at Dr. Yan's practice.  

1.  Units of scaling. Each "unit" is the equivalent of 15 minutes of scraping. Monitor the time the hygienist spends "scraping" your teeth or you risk being over-charged;
2.  A 10 second fluoride application will cost you $28 (general consensus is that fluoride treatments are no longer necessary but you should do your own due diligence);
3.  Even though you do not have x- rays taken you will be billed (in my case $33) for Dr. Yan to look at old x-rays.

My recent cleaning cost me $224, without x-rays, and it took less than 20 minutes to clean my teeth.  If money is a concern then you should find another dentist.   Having done a general canvas about what other people pay for teeth cleaning, I can assure you that there are many other more reasonably priced dentists out there.

I really enjoy my time with Dr. Yan and her staff. They are all very friendly and answer any and all questions I have and explain exactly what they are doing and why. They treat me like one of the family.

I absolutely HATE going to the dentist! But doctor Yan makes it comfortable for me. She is very aware of peoples' fears and knows how to calm them down and rake away their angst. I wouldn't go to anyone else!
