This place is okay. Hate that they sell rats for food purposes. Prices are alright. Lots of selection.

what a great store. You are welcomed by the awe of the products available for your animal/pet needs. Most days you are greeted by Karen and some days by her Pet Bear, all are friendly.. If you are not able to find the product you are looking for Karen is behind the counter searching to see if she can locate it,or where you can also locate it. I was treated with great respect ,but my pets were her first concern. We shop there frequently for our household pets,Downtown Pets is budget friendly,as well as question friendly. A great place to introduce your family to a variety of pet ideas,and lessons on their up keep. I have recently bought 2 Turtles from this pet store. The lady there was very helpful however both of the turtles are not doing well. We did alot of research, purchasing all the proper equipment and preparing before bring home her turtles and made the conditions perfect for them. On the way home we noticed neither turtles would open their eyes. It's now been 5 days and both turtles have yet to eat a thing and no eyes open....they are alive but not moving around much at all. I an a little disappointed to be sold pets that were not healthy to begin with.

I have shopped at Downtown Pets for the entire time the store has been open, i have bought more stuff at her store then any other pet store in Ontario! i have had the owner Karen specially order me product and fish that she dose not stock in her store she is great for that and tries to if she able to and once she orders it once she will continue to order that product and carry it, she has amazing animals and critters and lots of supplies, also Karen is not like any other pet stores that i have dealt with, she will ask you about what fish you have in your tank before selling you the fish that you want because it looks cool, so there are no problems of one fish or critter killing off all the rest you have in your tank, most pet store just wanna sell the "product " and make the sale, Karen is in NO WAY LIKE THIS, she care for you and your critters, and if your fish for some reason does die in the first several days and you call her she has been good on making things right, karen is the sole owner of the store and the only employe of that store, every time i go into her store shes always working her butt off cleaning cages or feeding critters, writing orders and always helping people with questions, when you walk into you are always asked if there's anything i can help you with no matter how busy she may be cleaning. My experience with Downtown Pets has been excellent
