I’m so glad this place opened up. The owners and staff are super friendly and these donuts are incredible! I come here multiple times a week and never leave disappointed.
This is my new favorite shop!! So good. I first sampled at Walk in Wilson, came back with a friend a few months ago and then this past weekend. Ended up buying 1 to sit and enjoy then took home three more.
These are truly culinary, artisan donuts and yet very approachable. I’ve had some of the best artisan donuts in LA, SF, and NYC; Downstate’s creations rank right up there with the best of the best. We are very lucky to have this unassuming gem in our hood.
Stopped by today and was so glad I did! Excellent donuts. I really, really like their Italian Cream Cake donut. They are currently only open Thur - Sun 7-2, but I imagine their hours will expand once they get going.

This is the best donut I've ever had! And I eat donuts! They're moist, just the right amount of sweet, and even the coffee was good. Which most places DD, Stan's, Starbucks coffee is awful! Definitely try this place, you'll thank me. I had the vanilla sour cream.
Downstate donuts makes the best donuts I’ve ever eaten. The classic and creative flavors are well balanced and have a texture that is light and chewy. The presentation is welcomingly understated and simple. I highly recommend these potato flour donuts.
Quite different than most other donuts and I mean that in a good way. They’re not too sweet and the potato makes them not as heavy as other donuts. A little pricey for the small size but they’re worth it in my opinion.
Visiting Chicago for the first time and just happened to be staying next door to this place. Mind. blown. At least in the entirety of my home state of Kansas I've never had a single donut that was half as good as these donuts. Idk anything about cooking with potato flour but clearly these guys have it all figured out. They don't have as crazy of flavors or toppings like most donut places these days but frankly there isn't a single donut on their menu that left me wanting something more. If you get there early enough you can even get them still warm, unbelievable!
