I love the fun atmosphere and the great food at this unique restaurant. The family style dinner is well with the price, you get quite a large selection and everything is delicious. I particularly liked the rice and shrimp dish and the tongue. The drinks are fun and aren't too expensive though we did notice that there were sight inconsistency between orders. My grapefruit cocktail was a little less grapefruity then my friend's. The pear tart is quite good though I didn't find the cheese ice cream to be particularly cheesy. Overall a fantastic experience. I highly recommend going with a few friends to try out more of the menu.
Everything was delicious my first time at Donna’s. Great drinks, solidly made martini. We shared a bunch of dishes, the beef tongue was great and the roast beef was fantastic. The radish leaves were a great touch. The “deep and delicious” dessert was a real standout, we fought over the last bite. Great service, great dinner.
What a beautiful find close to Lansdowne and Wallace. Really nice ambiance, the roast beef sandwich was delicious, my hot choc and my friend's coffee was tasty and all in all the service was excellent! Their menu is seasonal and keeps changing, so check the website for the most up to date menu. Will definitely be coming back to try the rest of the menu. Vegetarian options: They do have vegetarian dishes. Dietary restrictions: Gluten free and plant based milk available.
My new favorite restaurant in Toronto maybe even Canada. I've been wanting to try Donna's since before the pandemic after my sister and friends raved about it. Finally booked a table for my birthday, and it was spectacular. The interior is super quirky with every plate being so unique. The service was impeccable, everyone was so friendly. The portions are great to share with other members of your party, and every dish is done so well. We started with the bread & butter, and the bread was SO chewy. The croquettes are so delicious, it reminded me of the ones I had in Spain! The salads are super flavourful, and perfectly complimented the special of the day - roast beef... BEST roast beef I ever had in my life. My sister and I don't love meat usually, but this was so tender, and the mashed potatoes with brussel sprouts were delicious as well. For dessert, the almond/apple pie with fresh custard was so warm - perfect way to end the night. I already made plans to go back with my friends next week, I can't wait. It's honestly an amazing experience, I almost don't want to share how awesome this restaurant is!!!
Donnas was utter delight. This was our first time here and we can’t wait to plan our next visit. First off, loved the vibe of the place. The interior is so cute and strikes that perfect balance of contemporary and vintage. Can’t go wrong with all those houseplants too. Of course, the food is amazing well. Had to try the Miss Vickie’s, Sprats and Peppercinos. Paired perfectly with my Vermouth Seltzer. We also enjoyed the Squash and Goat Cheese salad and Cod Croquettes. All wonderful dishes with beautiful complex flavours. For our main course we ordered the Pork Shoulder Chop - wow it was good! The pork was cooked perfectly and it was so juicy and tender. We highly recommend ordering a side of the Sourdough Toast to sop up all that wonderful sauce. We finished our meal with the pear tart. I wish there was a smidge more pear, but the flavour itself was outstanding - loved the cheese ice cream! Have to conclude this review by commending Lucy for her excellent service. She expertly guided us through the menu and made us feel right at home. What a pro! Can’t wait to come back!
Donna’s exhibits great hospitality and I’ve tried a handful of their seasonal menus which never fails to amaze me. Patiently waiting until their corn dish and pea salad returns on their menu. Need to visit earlier for their peanut butter & miso cookies. This visit, there’s two new dishes I tried along with the usual. The carrot/kohlrabi dish took me by surprise as it came cold with a yogurt dip. The fish croquettes were their special item of the night off menu which was nice to try. The leafy salad and chilli shrimp were superb as always. Their apple crumble was the perfect dessert to end the night.
Scrumptious, fresh food and a pleasant atmosphere. Just get there early so you don’t miss the breakfast specials - they look really special! Really looking forward to returning to this place again.
Small but QUALITY and special menu. PEA SALAD? unexpectedly fabulous. Loved the clean vintage aesthetic with and felt fantastically LGBTQ2S+ friendly. Super nice patio and very spacious inside. Accessibility: Bathrooms downstairs, beware your knees!
Recommended by a friend. Lovely wait staff and delicious meal in a comfortable, bright atmosphere. We had the potato tortilla divine and shrimp sandwich delightful hydrated by their elderflower lemonade.
We really enjoyed our experience on a perfect summer day in Toronto. Clever, simple, well thought out dishes served with care.
