Purchased the item in the photo on July 24th, opened the cardboard package immediately prior to cooking them on July 25th to find the item as shown in the photo. Emailed Donald's customer service that same evening and as of August 1st have yet to get any response from Donald's. Be warned that Donald's sells products well beyond their best before date, check your packages carefully when shopping.
Grocery store and deli with an eclectic selection of items. Organic and "regular" produce. Delicious take-out food. Friendly and helpful staff. Don't miss the sale/discount section in the back, between the meats and the dairy sections.
A great find; broad selection of all things food with helpful and friendly staff.
I've been going here to get groceries for the last 2 years. Great choice of affordable, seasonal and organic food. Amazing staff. Weird to say that about a supermarket but I love this place!
One of the most expensive grocers in the neighbourhood. The aisles are incredibly narrow and often reeeaaally dirty so if you have any kind of mobility issues or even a purse over your shoulder, it becomes almost impossible to pass people. The checkouts are positioned terribly and the cashiers frequently leave the stand the second they finish with a customer so it's really difficult to find an open lane. The hot food counter is pretty much the only reason why I brave this place, you're much better going to the smaller stores around Hastings. I'd also be very careful about what meat you purchase as I've gotten full priced items before the best buy date and brought them home only to open them and discover they've already gone bad. I tried one of their 'too good to go' packages and they filled it with items that expired in October. You're not supposed to fill the bags with items that expired five months ago, you throw them out.
Good assortment of fresh produce at reasonable prices. They also have a hot Chinese takeout counter. Friendly staff.
Im sorry to have to complain publicly, but nobody seemed to want to apologize in store today. I have been a regular customer at donald's for a few years. I live in the neighbourhood. It was raining pretty hard today, but I needed a few things on the way home. I came in soaking wet as I was commuting by bicycle. I grabbed everything I needed within a few minutes and a man had dropped his shopping bags, I grabbed them off the floor and returned them to the owner, and he thanked me. I am not sure if this was the situation that the donalds security thought was stealing ??. I went and checked out and paid for my items. I was stopped by security immediately who didnt say much to me just kept poking me physically on places where he assumes I have stolen items. He touched me a few times and everyone was looking at me super embarrassing. After he realized i'm not a thief he quickly walked away without apology and obviously embarrassed for himself now. His only communication to me during this “search process” was poking me. I was asking him what would you like to check? do you think i stole or what is happening? He wouldnt communicate with me, he just kept pointing/poking. I was in full rain gear although I do have hand tattoos, so maybe I was targetted for that. I quickly left before muttering that he was an idiot as I was very frustrated. The customer behind me in line spoke up and said this is ridiculous as well. I understand your trying to protect a business from thieves. But a respectful way to go about this is A. dont touch me B. communicate with me C. apoligize for the misunderstanding I know some of the staff, have always been overly respectful with everyone as I valued Donalds as my community grocery store. So I will take a break from shopping their for the time being, I hope you guys can take this feedback and put a more sensible procedure in place with communication and a resolution in these situations. I think you fell very short on that today. Best of Luck.
I Love going to Donald's Market, I always find what I like! The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. There are Vegan options as well there, so it's convenient to have regular and Vegan food available in the same place. Sometimes some items are cheaper than in other markets, there are a lot of sales as well! Donald's Market is a nice place to go to get your groceries!
Unapologetically puts moldy/bad items on sale when it is far past its expiry date. Cleanliness is a major problem here.
Great place with friendly staff. Really nice selection of vegetables but the meat section could be a lot better with local organic chickens etc.
